High BMI Mamas

Just wondering if there were any high BMI/high risk mums on this board? I only just got my BFP but had a miscarriage at 11 weeks in April. Prior to that I’d been to my booking in appt and was classified as high risk due to my BMI, so I know that if I get that far this time it’ll happen again.

Obviously can’t lose enough weight to bring the BMI down now as there’s not enough time, but would love to share experiences with others in a similar situation, if you’re out there!

Good luck Alice. I was BMI 42 last pregnancy but owing to SPD and PIH which became quite bad there was no way I was anywhere but Labour ward.

Much bigger this time and expect I'll end up with another CS so I'm just biding my time and being optimistic that I may get a VBAC.

However my son WAS massive - anomaly scan on Wed so I'll see if I'm cooking up another big one - fingers crossed not. I've not gained any weight yet so at least that's one good thing.

My BMI is 41. I was just underweight with my eldest and normal with my youngest and now I'm morbidly obese! I'm 30 years old. I'm not sure what risks it poses for me though but I'm guessing some

@Aliceinchunderland I’m high BMI too, and looks like I’ll be fighting for a Waterbirth too ☹️ Hoping to get back up from my physio and healthy lifestyle midwife, as well as losing a few lbs 🙈

I wanted a water birth but it was a strict no. Basically because if I needed to g3t put and couldn't do it myself then the staff wouldn't be able to lift me. Mortifying. It's not about dangers per se for you or baby, it's about the midwife etc being able to get you out if needs be.
