Bleeding and cramping at 6 weeks

Brief history - I had an ectopic 4 months ago and was treated with methotrexate and discharged end of May. Found out I was pregnant a week or so ago and Epau booked me in for an early scan next Wednesday.
Yesterday I started having normal period pains and then a couple of hours later started bleeding quite heavily.

Figured the worst and went to a&e, spent a couple of hours there being poked and prodded and then sent to a gynaecologist. She had a look and said that my cervix was still closed and that basically to prepare myself for the worst but it was 50/50 as to which way it will go.

Gave me the option to stay in or go home (I jumped at going home!) and I'm awaiting a phonecall from Epau later today to get me an earlier scan today or tomorrow.

I've managed 3 hours sleep, woke up had to dash to loo and now my mind won't shut off so I've got up and made myself a camomile tea.

Gynaecologist said the bleeding wasn't what she would class as heavy but moderate, although I'm going through pads pretty quickly.

Not sure what I'm feeling tbh I think I'm still a bit in shock and hopefully I will be able to switch my brain off and go back to sleep soon.

I didn't want to pass by without saying anything, although I can't think of anything useful to say. Fingers crossed and thinking of you. Hope you get some rest. Good luck with the scan.

Thank you. I have a scan booked for tomorrow morning so hopefully we will find out one way or the other. I don’t seem to be bleeding quite as much today but it’s still a fair amount. It’s so frustrating not knowing!

Are you ok?

Thank you Dressinggown. I will be at some point, it’s just a lot to process at the moment.

Scan showed that everything was where it should be and the correct size for 6 weeks - she thought she could see a heartbeat but wasn’t 100%, but I seem to have very heavy implantation bleeding and I have been told that because of the amount of blood there isn’t a great deal of hope but there is still some hope - if that makes sense?

So I’m booked in for another scan a week on Tuesday and I’ve just got to take it easy and wait it out to see what happens.
