Fragmin injections - birth stories?

I'm due to start framin injections at 28 weeks pregnant until 6 weeks post delivery. This is due to my mum having a DVT when younger. I've never had anything so it is a precaution only measure.

Consultant said would discuss birth plan at 28 weeks & advised of possible induction to come off the fragmin to avoid spinal/epidural issues.
I hoped for as natural birth as possible An although have accepted I have to go delivery suite & cant have a waterbirth, really would prefer spontaneous labour as an aware induction can slow things down an actually be more painful.

Any stories from anyone in their labour? Did you spontaneously go into labour An how long was duration before epidural could be given? (Mainly concerned about needing general for Emergency CS)

If you are just on the prophylactic dose (which it sounds like you will be) then it is 12 hours from fragmin to epidural/spinal. 24 hours for the treatment dose.

Thank you @ladybunnikins the 12 hour time frame would put me more at ease I think to opt for it to be natural.

Yes im on once a day injection of 5000iu/0.2ml of fragmin. So believe it is the smaller dose as not a treatment one as I've never had a DVT myself.

That is the normal low dose. Hope all goes well for you, Im sure if youre just really clear with them about what you want they will be able to sort it out
