People touching my bump

Please tell me I'm not the only one!
I'm 33 weeks & 5 days & people now seem to think it's okay to touch and rub my bump! Ive always been weight conscious and the fact of being pregnant I don't feel 'glowing' like others I just feel I look fat and chubby and it's starting to really upset me that people think it's fine that they can just come and rub my stomach it really freaks me out and makes me cringe all over. Please tell me I'm not the only one?

I'm as far along as you are op and luckily so far only one colleague has touched my bump , she asked first too.

You have my sympathy though as it would really piss me off!

Ask them why they think your body is public property now that you are sharing it with your child.

Poor you! This is my worst nightmare. I'm 28 weeks and as of yet, personal space hasn't been invaded but I'm wary it's going to happen at some point.

I must give off 'stay away' vibes as no one touches me!

fatfingeredfran · 29/08/2017 17:54

When people started putting hands out to touch my bump I pretended I thought they were going in for a hug and hugged them. Seemed to stop them doing it again.

If that hadn't worked tho I was going to start flinching and saying 'oh my stomach skin is really sore and stretched, I can't stand it being touched' as hopefully that would stop them as it's a valid reason and not an emotional one, hopefully even a non pregnant person could understand it.

I also give a fuck off vibe. No one tried to touch mine. I might have actually slapped their hand away if they had.

Notreallyarsed · 29/08/2017 18:58

My stock response was a hard stare and a "if you didn't put it in there, or haven't come out of there yourself, back off."

Expectingbsbunumber2 · 29/08/2017 19:11

Everyone always asks to touch my bump.

The minute people knew I was pregnant they touched my stomach though everyone apart from my MIL has asked before they did it. I don't mind people asking, as they're doing it to be nice and are excited too, but uninvited touching by anyone is a no no.
