Solid/White yolk sac

Hi,

I have last week I am pregnant and due to health issues received an early prengancy scan to see how far along. I went today and was told 4-5 weeks pregnant and as per picture I have uploaded the yolk sac is solid - has anyone had the same thing happen and does this mean anything serious?

What did the person who scanned you say?

Just that I was to go back in 10 days for a further scan. Didn't really give much information. (First pregnancy so really unsure about everything)

Did they actually say that was the yolk sac? I would say actually that looks more like baby at 5 ish weeks, though it's possible it could be the edge of the yolk sac? I had a scan (unfortunately with a mmc) at 8 weeks, but baby only measured 5 and it looked exactly like that, which sonographer said was normal for 5 weeks. The yolk sac was round and black in the centre (with white border), but baby looked like that, which would have been perfect if I had been only 5 weeks. That would be my take. The yolk sac would be more round and hollow looking.

Midwife said that she could only see Yolk sac and pregnancy sac? Still unsure of everything as first time pregnant. Never said anything about seeing the baby other than I've to go back in two weeks to see how baby is developing.

I had t he same and it was just too early for a heart beat which is why you'll prob be going back. I ended up doing a private one, 7 days after as couldn't wait the 12..pkus dp was away for it. That way he could come and all was OK.
