Baby dropped-labour imminent??!

35 weeks with DC2, I had a midwife appt a few days ago and she said the head was 4/5 palpable so only a little bit engaged

Eating dinner this evening and had a strong BH (been getting them for weeks now), afterwards I felt very different like I suddenly had a load of space under my ribcage and can take a proper deep breath....

So I'm guessing the baby has dropped further, am I about to go into labour though?!! Don't remember feeling the baby drop with DC1

I think they can drop weeks before labour.

DS1 dropped like that at about 36 weeks and I was induced at 40+10 so I wouldn't hold your breath!

I don't think it means anything unfortunately! ...Other than that you are having a baby in the next 7 weeks which is good news😉

I was just about to post something similar! I feel like I can breathe for first time in weeks, I need to pee every 5 mins and when I walk there's a sharp pain in between my legs. I've been timing my Braxton Hicks and they're around 3 mins apart and about 30 secs long. I'm 35 weeks but my DS came at 27 week so at risk of prem birth. Is it worth ringing labour ward? I don't want to worry people if it's nothing! And don't want to look silly!

Are they def BH and not contractions?! Guess there's no harm in you ringing them though I'd be tempted to get comfy and see what happens!
DC1 came at 39 weeks so hoping I've only got 4 wks to go (or less) as opposed to 7!

They're not at all painful, just the regular tightenings. However, I went 12 hours at home with regular tightenings that I thought were BH with DS and turned out I was in labour, which makes me doubt myself.

They only got painful last time as I started to push when I went from 4-10 cm in 20 mins then DS arrived with 2 pushes.

Well I've been kept in hospital overnight. Midwifes were a bit sceptical when I called but patronisingly told me to come in for reassurance. They soon changed their tune when monitor picked up regular contractions. Luckily they're not painful and cervix isn't dilating so just being kept in for monitoring.

You'll definitely know when it's time OP! If you're not sure, then it's probably BH

I've just been discharged. They're happy that although the contractions are regular they're not affecting my cervix so not imminent!

Others say they feel the baby drop early, but it doesn't actually mean that you are in labour, it's one step towards labour though.
