Hi,

I've been with my partner for 6 months and discovered a month ago I was pregnant. It was a shock but everyone is over the moon, however I just don't feel excited. Feel completely exhausted and like I want to be on my own all the time. I have been avoiding spending time with my partner and I feel like I don't like him anymore but I don't know why because I didn't feel like this before being pregnant. I'm 9 weeks now and don't know whether it's down to hormones or what but I feel so bad for him. He feels like I'm pushing him away which I am really.

Please help :-(

I'm sorry you're having a tough time op.

I'm going to ask you a direct question - do you want this baby?

Obviously I don't know your circumstances, but I found that even though I really wanted my baby I felt really weird about pregnancy to start off with. It took me a long time to reconcile myself to the fact that it was actually happening. So it may just be that you need time to adapt to the huge change that's coming.

I do want the baby. I just don't know why I don't feel excited, it's really weird. I did feel excited and then my symptoms set in and it went away. My moods have been low and I would prefer to just sleep all the time. None of it seems real yet

I'm 8+2 today and I feel like I want to be in solitary too! I think it's just hormones and I wouldn't worry too much at this stage. Everyone seems to be irritating me with the slightest of things including my boyfriend so I'm just trying to keep myself to myself and haven't even really been messaging anyone other than when completely necessary. I'm sure it will pass Hun, and congratulations xxx

Thanks for responding op.

Pregnancy is hard! Don't think that being exhausted and bad tempered instead of thrilled and glowy makes young bad person in any way.

Is there any particular thing you're worried about with regards to pregnancy/Parenthood? Could you share these thoughts with your partner?
