I found out I was pregnant at 14 weeks ( I wasn't trying to convince and was on contraception and I had no periods ) and I am worried sick that my baby will have something wrong as soon as I found out I stopped straight away I'm now 17 weeks I have had 2 scans and the sonographer said the baby looks fine and is growing well etc I'm just anxiety ridden with the thought of something being wrong has anyone been in this position and there baby was fine? Thanks x

I found out at ten weeks and had also been drinking during that time (glasses of wine with dinner, one big night out). I have a happy bubbly three month old with no obvious health problems :)

A friend of mine who thought she was infertile found out she was pregnant at 17 weeks and now has a very bright six year old.

It happens to lots of us! I was absolutely hammered the night before I found out and I'd been eating Brie and cured meat. My friend went on two huge cocaine and alcohol binges over the Christmas / new year period and she found out late too. Her son is 3 and absolutely fine!

Happened to me too - found out after a rather boozy holiday! Was so upset I actually spoke to a consultant about it. He was very reassuring! Said it had happened since time immemorial. He said that, in a 30 year career, he'd only ever once seen a case of foetal alcohol syndrome and that was in an alcoholic mother drinking over a bottle of spirits a day throughout her pregnancy. Please try not to worry - all will be fine.

I wasn't so far on, but was on something of a month long bender (not just boozy) when i found out I was pregnant. Also not TTC. Had been partying hard for a long time, so talk about short sharp shock!

He's fine... and I'm almost 2 years from my last hangover, or anything more indulgent than a glass of wine with dinner Smile

I had a few drunken nights before I found out I was pregnant with my 2yo. In fact, it was a drunken chat that made me think "Oh there hasn't been a period in a while".. the next day I did a test very hungover and lo and behold I now have a son who is currently moaning because he can't have chocolate for breakfast.

Don't worry. Someone I know had no idea she was pregnant till she went in to labour, her baby was fine.

Obviously not advising dribking through pregnancy but just stop now and I'm sure you'll be fine.

I was nearly a month pregnant when I found out. I'd been drinking and smoking, and went to a concert (a small one at an o2 academy where you all stood up, we were in the very front row).
My baby was fine. It happens to a lot of people.
