Felt ropey for the last fortnight just thought it was pmt or something - tired (but have a busy job and hyper toddler). DH and I thought - just on the off chance - we'd "rule out" me being pregnant (so incredibly unlikely it was hardly worth testing, we thought...)

Tested this morning.

This happened... Shock Shock

I don't know when my period is/was due, can't remember the dates of my last one, maybe sometime mid-late June? I am feeling massively irresponsible (I am pretty sure this is the result of too much wine Grin on a rare evening out).

So... errm, how do I work out how pregnant I am and will anyone judge if I'm not too sure? (I'm sure the midwife won't as it can't be that unusual...right?!)

Shocked, scared, we're not really ready for another yet BUT SO SO EXCITED!!!!

So... this is a surprise!

Congrats OP. Nope I doubt the midwife will judge as there is nothing to judge. You've not done anything wrong.

follybodger · 03/08/2017 13:49

Huge congrats. And there's never already time for another 😂

BluePheasant · 03/08/2017 13:49

Congratulations!

If last period was roughly mid June then you're around 7 weeks Smile

follybodger · 03/08/2017 13:50

A ready that should've said!

Congratulations. You will probably need an early dating scan, your GP pr local Midwife can advise. It is normal for them to ask if pregnancy was planned because if it is unplanned, some women can be very upset. I was asked at all my booking in scans if it was planned/unplanned and if this baby had the same father as my other children. They also ask about domestic abuse and other information.

Mrsknackered · 03/08/2017 14:38

I wasn't 100% with my first so GP sent me for a dating scan. I thought I was 6 weeksish.
I was 20!

Congratulations OP Flowers

Thank you all! The mega excitement is kicking in now, I can understand why they ask about planned/unplanned - we're in the happy accident/unexpected blessing camp all good. Shock mrsknackered! 20 weeks!! Argh! That's both incredibly exciting and a little bit terrifying!

Aw congratulations OP! And don't worry about not knowing dates, I took DD (then 5 months) to my scan and discovered I was 18 weeks gone to my horror surprise! She did ask how I hadn't noticed the symptoms until I pointed out that I'd been a bit busy the last few months Grin

Congrats!! Honestly this happened to me in January. My little boy was only 8 months and at new year my partner joked oh we might start the new year with a new baby even tho we didnt want one and I started thinking when was my last monthly and kind of worked out it was Halloween 🙈 did a test and it was positive. Need to admit the docto was fine and didn't judge she said it happened that often. They just took me saying Halloween. I am now 37 wks pregnant today and booked in for a section 2 wks today and it is my little boys 4th birthday 1 wk today so basically I will have a newborn 16 month old and 4 yr old lol

This pregnancy like you was a surprise shock and everything else however you will be so happy and excited.

Hope it all works out and u should get an early scan to roughly date it.
