Slightly long post but please help me out. Hi everyone wondering if you could help me out here. I'm 17 years old and worried I could be pregnant. I have an app on my phone which keeps track of my cycle, I dated that my last period began on the 20th June and the app says my ovulation date was 3rd July. I had unprotected sex around 7 times across the 12th and 13th July as I stayed at my boyfriends, and again 4 times accross the 17th and 18th. My period is now 14 days late. I took a asda pregnant test when I was 5 days late it was negative, took 2 at 10 days late both negative ahain. I'm not sure on the symptoms as sometimes not I think I have some and other times I think it's my head messing with me but I'm definitely more tired and peeing a lot more. I sometimes have light cramps and had very light spotting on the 19th July. I am not on any form of contraception and therefore don't want to see my doctor if not needed as he is a very judgemental one and gave me the stick a few months ago over birth control. Does anyone know if there's a chance I could be pregnant after the dates of sex and when I should take another test if needed?

May I also add that I have had a lot of clear discharge over the past few weeks, I am having to wear pants liners whenever I go out the house. Sometimes it is thick and sometimes runny.

Take another test ASAP you could very well be pregnant.

Hmm sounds like you had sex after the time that ovulation was happening so in theory should be 'safe' but then again you can never be sure how accurate these apps are - are you fairly regular OP?

I'd suggest you got a new GP, its not their job to cast judgement.

Deeplysatisfied · 01/08/2017 15:52

My cycle is usually perfect and accurate, always on on the predicted days and always menstruating 7 days each time. I have only taken asdas pregnancy tests, the 2 for £3.50 ones, would it be ideal to try a different brand?

You could be but as another poster said it wasn't around ovulation. Try first response they worked for me and the blue dye cheapies from the chemist. Although I was 8 days late so I had very strong positives! Can I just ask though (not being judgmental and nasty) but why arnt you on birth control? It sounds like you are panicking so wasn't planned (my baby wasn't planned but I was on the pill) I now have the implant. Hope you get answers soon though x

You could well be pregnant. I got pregnant on day 9 of my cycle. Sperm can live for several days in the right conditions. Do a digital test with first morning urine and see how it goes. You may think your GP was giving you stick but he was just looking out for you.

Tentomidnight · 01/08/2017 16:05

Try a first response pink test, they are very reliable.
What do you want the result to be? You've told us that you've had unprotected sex at least 11 times this month. That is the actions of a couple actively trying to conceive!
At 17 I also played with fire in this way, it made things exciting. Needless to say, it didn't end well.

PotteringAlong · 01/08/2017 16:06

If you're worried you might be pregnant then I assume you don't want to actively try to have a baby. In that case you need to stop having unprotected sex. Either use contraceptives or stop having sex. Your GP was not "giving you stick", they were probably making a very valid point which might have prevented the position you're in now.

Deeplysatisfied · 01/08/2017 16:07

I'll try get hold of some first response tests asap, also I was put on birth control when I was 15 and had a really horrible reaction to the pills, possibly an allergy to something in it but it affected my breathing and since then I've just had a fear of facing alternative contraceptions incase the same thing happened although feeling pretty stupid about not using condoms!! the past 3 tests I've taken I've just felt certain they'd be positive but then they come straight back as negative so I'm just in two minds x

Also not looking to conceive, I turn 18 in 2 weeks and have a conditional place for university in September so babies aren't intentionally on the cards for a while x

Yes you could be pregnant. Try the clear blue digital one, tells you how many weeks you are. Then I would go and see your doctor even ask for a different one

SheSaidHeSaid · 01/08/2017 16:34

Yes, you could be pregnant.

I'm actually quite shocked you had unprotected sex even though you don't want a baby, especially that number if times. You really need to stop doing that unless you want a baby. Buying condoms is a lot easier than having an unwanted baby or a termination.

Deeplysatisfied · 01/08/2017 16:42

now realising I've been irresponsible in terms of not using condoms, however as my boyfriend understands why I don't take contraception we've discussed that if it was to happen we would take the situation day by day and deal with it together (pregnancy) obviously I was just stupid to think it won't happen to me. If I am pregnant then I will keep the baby and i will love it just as much as I would if it was planned regardless of my age and situation x

But just because you don't want to take hormonal contraceptives doesn't mean your only option is no contraception at all and hope for the best. Condoms, some coils, the diaphragm are all non hormonal. You need to go to your local sexual health clinic and get sorted.

owltrousers · 02/08/2017 09:06

Hope you are ok OP. Keep us updated.
