I'm 13 weeks and just feel sick & tired all the time 🤢 It's so draining!

My hair is dull & falling out, my skin is dry & people keep telling me how pale I look (thanks!) and I just want to sleep all the time Blush

I'm trying really hard not to moan, we've been trying for 6 years, This was a last ditch ivf which we didn't expect to work so I am really happy, I'm just hating the physical experience - my mate told me yesterday to man up, she said I'm supposed to be enjoying it (also thanks Hmm ) but I'm really not...

To top it off last night I had a bad dream where I had the baby and it hated me 🙈

I'm trying to tell myself it means the hormones are high and keeping the baby fit, healthy & growing (at 12.2 day scan the baby measured 12.5 so all is well and slightly ahead if anything)

Anyway, when do I get this pregnant glow I've heard so much about?

At about 15 weeks I got a major burst of energy. Felt way better for about 8 weeks. At 24 weeks I got mild (self diagnosed!) SPD. I'm 27 weeks now and I feel like a normal person again!

When I was about 14 weeks people would say I was looking amazing. Really healthy and my skin was lovely.
Week 14 was the week I felt the worst. Couldn't eat, kept being sick, felt like utter rubbish. To be fair I have lost nearly a stone since getting pregnant so it was probably weight loss that made me look good.
I'm now 17 weeks with very little nausea but my energy levels are still rubbish and my hair feels all wirey. I get the feeling that "the glow" is a myth along with "morning" sickness and 12 weeks means you stop spewing. All myths!

I'm 13 weeks too and I puke every single day, my skin is oily and spotty, my hair is dry and wiry and the bags under my eyes are ginormous. And I'm so exhausted all the time I can't spend the usual time taking care of my skin and hair as I normally would which is making it worse. I feel atrocious! Can't wait to feel even slightly normal again.

I'm 28 weeks and still waiting to glow. My hair is a bit thicker and the first trimester spots have gone but man am I tired and un-glowy!

EssentialHummus · 18/07/2017 17:19

33 weeks here and still no bloody glow.

Lunalovepud · 18/07/2017 19:04

I'm 36 weeks with DC2 and the only glow I have ever had was when DC1 was a few months old and I went out with my mates and got all nice and drunk. It was ace.

@oysterbabe I'm with you! I have been concerned that I have actually accidentally set myself on fire more than once over the last few weeks...

ScarlettInSpace · 18/07/2017 21:19

Ah you lovely lot, thanks for reassuring me I'm not on my own, even if you've all done a shit job giving me any hope for improvement anytime soon Grin

Honesty is the best policy. Wink

To be fair, you will probably feel less shit around 20 weeks when your bump appears and you can feel your baby wriggling - that bit is lovely.

It lasts for about 5 minutes until you become the size of a house, can't walk across the room without farting and the lovely gentle baby movements turn into full on foot in the ribs, MMA style battery. Wink

All worth it when they arrive though... There it's nothing in the world quite like holding your own baby. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

DearTeddyRobinson · 18/07/2017 21:50

I felt a bit less shite after around 16 weeks. Significant improvement after exit of baby! But yeah being pregnant was pretty miserable for me. Still did it twice though!
KingJoff has it right, the glowing starts in about 3 years or so Grin
