Does anaemia cause severe tiredness?

I had a letter from mw about a week ago saying that my last blood test showed that I am slightly anaemic. Went to GP, got iron tablets, so all sorted. My only problem is that in the last few days I have become completely EXHAUSTED. Like, not just tired, but a head-to-toe ache any time I go upstairs or attempt to do housework of any kind. I got a bit upset about it yesterday cos I've had a rough pregnancy and this is just another problem to add to the list, so DH told me to go to bed and sleep until I feel better, but I never actually wake up feeling not tired. I think I could literally sleep 24/7 and still feel exhausted. Could this be a normal side effect of anaemia, or just regular third trimester tiredness? I've got mw appointment on Wednesday so I'll check with her then, but I just wanted to see if anyone else felt like this in the latter stages of pregnancy?

Yes anaemia can make you very tired, but so can third trimester! I'm second trimester and unbelievably tired, not helped by non sleeping toddler but I've gone from someone who can never nap to someone who constantly falls asleep, and my iron levels are good so it's just general pregnancy tiredness.

I'm exhausted too, could just sleep or sit down all the time. Started taking iron tablets last week on advice from the MW but I don't feel any better so thinking its just pregnancy tiredness. Take it easy if you need to, growing a person is hard work!
