Gross hair!

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and I have really greasy hair at the moment. Pre pregnancy i used to wash my hair about once every 3 days because I'm lazy
I use sulfate free shampoo and conditioner but I'm wondering if there's a milder shampoo that would help? Or would not conditioning make a difference? I could wash it more often but, as stated above, I'm lazy Grin

My was the same. Very normal, I just washed more often.

Forgot to say, it got better in the 2nd/3rd tri

Mine was also the same. Not conditioning actually made it worse. As pp said, it's now better in the 2nd tri but dry shampoo saved my life for those weeks I was a grease ball. My skin was also super greasy

Same here, super greasy hair and skin in the first trimester. I'm nearly 3rd trimester now and for a while my hair has been able to go 3 days without washing, whereas before pregnancy it was defo every day (maybe 2 days at a scrape but it would look grim by evening if day 2). It's just the hormones, it will get better soon! First trimester is just grim all over!

Dry shampoo! Saves washing it every day too!

Seems to be worse for me at the minute because of the hot weather but dry shampoo has always helped.

Dry shampoo or talc! (cheaper option) as it isn't good for your hair to wash it everyday and let's face it, it's far too much effort! No-one will judge you!

Currently in 3rd tri and have gone from religiously need to wash hair every day to only needing it done once a week! And I've got very long hair...it's fab. Also very helpful because the very thought of washing and drying my hair at the moment exhausts me.

BaffledMummy · 11/07/2017 08:48

Sorry...the point of that post was to give some encouragement it would get better...not to stealth boast about hair condition!

My hair and skin were both horrendous until about 16 weeks- far from the glow I was promised my hair actually managed to somehow be simultaneously greasy AND dandruffy!! 🙈 To echo others though this did definitely get better and now at 27 weeks I'm actually down to washing my hair less frequently than I did pre-pregnancy and it stays looking good for longer. Hope you experience the same transition OP!
