Miscarriage doubts

Hi this is my first post but I'm desperate for advice or anyone that can relate - I was 15 weeks pregnant but about 2 weeks ago I had a heavy bleed and felt something pass, which I assumed was the baby. I didn't have any cramps or back pain.

I went to A & E where a doctor examined me and said my cervix was slightly open so a miscarriage was inevitable and I should go home and come back if the bleeding got worse or if I felt ill. He said he would refer me for a scan to conform.

Me and my husband cried and grieved, and tried to get our heads round it.

Anyway, the scan hasn't come through, I've been told it could take up to 6 weeks. In the two weeks since it happened, my tummy seems to have grown, but I don't feel feverish or ill. I just don't know what to do! Has anyone been through similar? I had some dark brown discharge today (sorry, tmi) but still no pain or anything.

I know once the cervix opens that's inevitable mc, but I still feel really pregnant and I can't wait 6 weeks to find out! If I do a pg test, would that tell me or is it too soon for a negative test? I don't want false hope, I just can't get my head round it 😕 Thanks for any advice or experience you can give.

What wonderful news! You must be torn between being furious at the hospital and delighted at the outcome. So happy for you. Wishing you a smooth pregnancy going forward

I went through the exact same / incredibly heavy bleed at 14 weeks was hospitalised in case I haemorrhaged and was told they could see the placenta coming out. Next morning I was scanned and all was perfect, one of those things and what they had actually seen was a large clot rather than placenta - baby girl is now 3

Thank you so much for posting! I am 6/7 weeks and currently experiencing a bleed. I have an appointment at EPU tomorrow and I'm I'm trying to stay positive. This story has really helped! Very pleased for you x
