Anyone taking or have taken anti-sickness meds?

Firstly did they help?

I'm on my 4th pregnancy and they've all been hell on earth. I am really struggling with this one (7wks) maybe because it was unplanned and maybe because I've 3 little ones to mind but I'm thinking of asking the doc about anti sickness tablets. I do worry about the affect on the baby, that's what has stopped me before, how do you reconcile that risk? Or do you not feel there is a risk? I'd feel terrible if there was anything wrong with this baby and I had been taking tablets but I know that's not necessarily rational. I also would feel bad that I sucked it up for the other 3 but not this baby😢

But I'm really suffering and have such a long way to go.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Bubble I've not heard that when I was tried on it (about 3 months ago) I was given 80 odd tablets!

I remember thinking Christ what a waste if they don't work at the time.

I heard from a chum that various the meds they provide you for morning disease incorporate distinctive caffeine. I had morning disease for 6 weeks, and that I be attentive to the way you sense. Not to morning sickness tea subsided my sickness and it's safe being preservative-free and totally organic.

Your post is hard to read so apologies if this isn't what you meant but...

Did you seriously just recommend tea to someone with HG?

UnbornMortificado · 04/06/2017 20:38

There's always ginger biscuits.

Angry

To be honest I was clueless before I developed it with this pregnancy (number 5) it's hard to understand how debilitating it is till you actually go through it.

There's always ginger biscuits

and crackers when you wake up

-_-

Thats what they seem to be going off, though i didn't realise it was from 2013, was told last summer that it has only just been found out!

I'm wondering if its a very small amount of cases that have made the 'findings', otherwise surely all doctors would be worried about it not just some!

Lemondrop99 · 04/06/2017 22:53

Someone told me to eat green apples today Hmm

UnbornMortificado · 04/06/2017 23:37

The metacloperamide made me really anxious. I do have prior MH issues and I've been kept on one AD (amitripiline) throughout this pregnancy but it was still unpleasant.

A lot of women do fine on it though and like the cyclizine if had it in the past with no bad effects.

Pregnancy is such a barrel of laughs.

Justdontgetitatall · 06/06/2017 00:53

Metacloprimide nearly killed me and baby SadConfused

ripa81 · 07/06/2017 00:14

Definitely, you should visit doctor if you have HG. I am just telling about my morning sickness that it gone with the help of this tea.

timeisnotaline · 07/06/2017 00:21

I don't know those words in the link but metaclopramide made my heart start racing, I couldn't sleep all night and counted 100 bpm at about 5 am and stopped taking it pretty quickly!

Gothbaby · 07/06/2017 09:43

i had horrendous morning sickness and had to go to the GP about it! BUT the pills they gave barley did anything :-( the only thing that worked that was also safe to take pregnant was ginger root tablets. worked a treat x

Lemondrop99 · 07/06/2017 11:01

Metaclopramide is limited to max 5 days now anyway, due to side effects. Barely seems worth trying.

BlahBlahBlahEtc · 07/06/2017 18:32

Jeez, I was on metachlopromide(double dosage) for 9 weeks. Sad

Hi I’m 11 weeks pregnant and feel so rough! I’ve been hospitalised twice now with HG and been given metoclopramide and Cyclizine. I’ve been taking 2 metoclopramide a day but don’t feel it’s helping and Cyclizine just makes me very sleepy but doesn’t take the nausea away. I’ve also been prescribed ondansetron but told to only take it as a last resort. Can anyone give me advice please? Thanks
