Which pram???

My mum and dad have said that I can have any pram I want but I haven't got much idea which one to get. (First grandchild and all - they are very excited!) I started off liking the Ziko ones, then moved onto Maclaren's and then I saw the Stokke. My mum likes the Stokke and so do I but it's so expensive! Is it worth the money or would I be better getting one of the others. I don't go off road, don't use public transport and so it'll mainly be used in the Trafford Centre and other shopping areas.
Any ideas please?

Oh no nappyaddict..I'm selling one of mine! was going to flog it for £30 will be selling my brand new one soon..

nappyaddict · 18/03/2007 21:56

£30 ... that sounds very reasonable. do you have photos? what condition is it in?

hillary · 18/03/2007 22:00

It needs a little work, don't have pics at the mo but its white bodied with navy hood, its a 1950's one with white handle (like the balmoral) very pretty both my dds fit in it together ages 1 & 3, it needs about £50 or so spending on it, wooden bodied but soooo nice to push, Its useable at the mo just needs tarting up they're the most expensive ones on ebay (for full restoration they tend to go for at least £50 I just hate ebay)

nappyaddict · 18/03/2007 22:13

what sort of restoration does it need?

hillary · 18/03/2007 22:22

it needs a little touch up on the paintwork (not much a pot can be also bought from ebay for £15 and could do with a new hood to make it immaculate, its just worn a little but it is 40 years old, the inside of the hood is totally unaffected and is brilliant white.

I would take it out as it is and I'm a fussy cow

if you can get some pictures to me hillary and close ups of any "imperfections" that would be great. when touching up paintwork do you have to sand it etc first. i've never restored a pram before ...

misdee · 18/03/2007 22:34

i almost sold the bugaboo the other week when i was feeling down but peter told me not to because ' you will jsut get another one'.

i even contemplated selling the cam and keeping the gecko that i had her for re-sale, but dd3 didnt fit in the gecko lol.

was £300 i think.

why arent you on my msn list anymore? how odd

hillary · 18/03/2007 22:38

yes sure nappyaddict, yes you just sand it locally (a bit like washing a stain out of a carpet you do a bit of the surrounding area so as to not make it show) then you put a little base on it and cover it over (the silver cross coach pram restoration advice line can give you step by step guidance) even to the exact pot colour etc. I love pushing it its way more sturdy than my brand new kensington.

I'll gather all the details together for you. Its so elegant

nappyaddict · 29/03/2007 11:23

my email address is tobys_mummy at btinternet dot com

is this the right hood for it?
