Hi everyone. 5 weeks pregnant (not confirmed by doc yet) my appointment is on Saturday but I'm unsure if I should tell my employer now as things are getting very stressful at work with workload etc. Maybes if I was to tell them my situation asap before confirmation then they may give me less work as stress isn't helpful right now!! What shall I do? :)

It's totally upto you, you're under no obligation to tell them, but if you want to then go for it if it'll help with work.

I told my manager at 6/7 weeks and the rest of the staff at 9 weeks. I old my manager early as we regularly have to unload large deliverys and they can some times be fairly heavy and as a member of the management team we can be in the store before opening and after closing alone.
I told the rest of the team because I was so bloody sick there was no hiding it!

You don't have to tell them if you don't want to. If your worried about any manual work then it could be a good idea to tell her/him but it's up to you.

Congratulations

I had to tell work at only 5 weeks for various reasons (just my boss and the girl who worked for me) . They didn't tell anyone else which was great, and I just told people as and when I needed to.
I worked in an industry with a lot of socialising with customers at work, so let the bar manager know so he could ply me with sparking elderflower instead of champagne for example!

As long as you'd be okay having to tell them/them knowing if the worst were to happen.
If it's not physically stressful work then I wouldn't expect them to make special allowances for you but your employer might be nicer than mine!
