Hi all

I'm 6+3 today and had an early scan as I'm high risk. Scan showed no heartbeat, and they think I'm earlier on in pregnancy by a week. So they think am 5+3. Instead of seeing normal yolk sac, they saw what they think is two yolk sacs. What are your opinions please? Also very worried about there being no heartbeat, how can my dates be off by a week? Thanks all :)

That does look like two yolk sacs! A week out isn't unusual, if you ovulated a few days later than usual and then implanted on the late side of normal that could put you almost a week behind what you would expect. I've been put a week ahead on 3 of pregnancies as (I know now) that I ovulate pretty early in my cycle.

When are they planning to re scan you?

In two weeks time I have to go back for a rescan. My daughter at 5+2 was just a yolk sac with no heartbeat. But I knew my dates. This time I'm worried, because I know the last time I had sex, so I'm worried that all isn't well. Plus petrified at the thought of two babies lol!

This was me a couple weeks ago(with regards to no HB), got scan at 6+3 tho I ovulated late so told sonographer I could be a week out, 2 sacs both containing something visible but no HB but measuring 4-5weeks, back 2 weeks later, 1 sac containing yolk sac, fetal pole and HB tho only measuring 6 weeks! Im a bit confused as no way dates could be out as i got put back 2-3 weeks from original date and hadn't dtd at that time to even conceive that much later anyways sonographer said all looked well on noth accounts so don't worry if you're measuring out and no HB as could just have been to early to see! Fingers crossed for next scan!

Sperm can live in the body for up to 5 days so conception doesn't always happen on the day of sex. It could explain the week's difference?
