Does the MAP really work?

I've never had to take it before. But me & dh fell out earlier & have made up in the nicest way But when we got up he said "Oh shit, where's the condom?" It was up inside me & he had to fish it out & [sob]

I am Catholic & before when we've had accidents I've just let it ride & see what happens as I've never really cared. But I am in the middle of a degree at the minute, I don't want a baby.

So, do I take the MAP? just incase [I am ovulating also so double freaked here] Where would I get it, can I get it over the counter at a chemist? Would I be embarrassed asking for it only to be told they don't do it? Do I call the doc & get a prescription for one or do I need to see the doctor to get it. Think my FPC is on tomorrow morning when I am in Uni so won't be able to go there. How long do I have, as fpc is open on Tuesday morning.. is that too long?

Sorry for the rambling post. Wish I had changed my name for this, but I feel sick already.

Mine was the fpc. The chemist wanted to charge me £24 for one But I can see how that would stop people going & asking for it a lot... £24!!

The doc @ fpc was really nice.

Fannyannie, you're pregnant aren't you? can I ask if it is because the MAP failed?

ermm - yes it was because the MAP failed - didn't want to mention it on this thread given your concerns about it not working......

MAP didn't work for me either but I'm happy dd1 is here really (and is 10 now!)

Well, it won't be the end of the world for me if it doesn't work. I just did what I thought was best for us, as a family, not what I necessarily think was best for me personally. If that even makes sense.

Thanks everyone. It's been good to ask questions without fear of being judged.

I know exactly what you mean FF - I was rather reluctant to take it on personal grounds - but knew for our family it was the best thing........obviously is didn't work for me but thankfully things seem to be working out ok.
