Heartburn back with a vengeance

I had a bit of heartburn that stopped a few weeks ago when my bump dropped at around 34 weeks... I am nearly 36+5 now and it is back with a vengeance. Nothing is touching it.

Is this a sign of impending end of pregnancy (please let it be so) and any tips for managing it. It's really horrible!

Congratulations! I had heartburn for the last trimester and it was awful, I get more sleep with a newborn! The only thing that worked for me was omeprazole. You need a prescription so if you can get to a GP I would recommend that.

It wasn't a sign that the baby was nearly here for me but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I would see your GP. I was prescribed something as suffered so badly and would wake up with mouthfuls of bile. The tablets really helped. X

Omeprazole! That's the one! X

Giving up wheat worked for me. My midwife advised it.

It's horrible! I felt like someone was pouring battery acid down my throat. My dp suggested Bassetts sherbet ( the tube with the liquorice stick in), thought he was mad until I got so desperate I'd try anything, anyway it blimin worked and I had a cupboard full! Good luck!

Omeprazole is your friend. Get thee to the gp!!
