I've been to the toilet and noticed a small amount of blood in my pants along with when I wiped there was a bit on the tissue. It wasn't a lot by any means but enough for me to notice. I haven't booked a midwife yet so I haven't seen anyone yet. I'm not sure what to do, trying not too panic

I had three separate incidences of bleeding before my 12 week scan. I now had an amazing 6 month daughter. I'm not saying of course everything is fine, don't worry at all etc as every pregnancy is different. I called out of hours and asked what to do. Was told to wait and see if there was more blood or abdomen pain. There was still the next day so I rang back and they booked me in for an early scan for about 5 days later. Some areas let you self refer to the early pregnancy unit (if that's what it's called) but where I am a gp has to refer you. Basically if you are going to miscarry there's not a lot you can do. The dr on the phone just told me to take it easy. Try not to panic (hard to do I know). There are lots of reasons for light bleeding though. If I were you I'd wait and see how it goes and if you do get more blood ring the out of hours and ask them what you should do. Good luck x

I too had this and pregnancy was healthy, baby perfect! Your early pregnancy unit should help, especially at 9 weeks. Hope all goes ok.

Chloeisobelle21 · 21/12/2016 22:34

Thank you both. I'm going to wait until tomorrow morning and call my early pregnancy unit at the hospital and see what they recommend. I'm hoping they ask me to come in for a scan asap because it's going to ruin my Christmas having to wait, especially if I do continue to bleed. 😞

Do you think I should call the EPU? I feel like an idiot that I haven't got a midwife

Newtoday · 22/12/2016 10:14

If you have an EPU then yes, please do... take care of yourself!

Oly5 · 22/12/2016 10:17

Yes call the EPU and they should book you in for a scan.
I had bleeding that ended in miscarriage but they were great!

Chloeisobelle21 · 22/12/2016 11:09

Thanks, no one is answering so I've left a message which seems pointless. Hopefully they can sort somethinf

If it's a one off and not a large amount then a good chance it's nothing to worry about. But I would also be trying to get hold of someone this side of christmas for reassurance. I had similar at 8 weeks, got a scan and all was well.

Gooseygoosey12345 · 22/12/2016 11:21

Don't panic. I had the same between 7 and 8 weeks and we're fine so it could well be nothing! They got me in for a scan and said they couldn't see a reason and there was no bleeding anymore and baby was fine. I had a little more bleeding than you as well. Epu should get back to you quite quickly. And get yourself a midwife sorted soon :)

Rachie1986 · 22/12/2016 11:22

Hope you get seen OP and everything ok. Try not to worry (impossible I know)

Heirhelp · 22/12/2016 11:24

I had more bleeding than take about the same time with my DD who is now 7 months.

If you have an epu then ring them.

jpeg28 · 22/12/2016 11:42

I bled on and off from 5-13 weeks and everything was fine. I would go to the EPU though just to be sure. I've also had a MC before this pregnancy and although this time it was less blood, i still worried so had some early scans.

Chloeisobelle21 · 22/12/2016 17:02

Thanks all. I rang the EPU and I've got a scan booked for tomorrow at 11 Smile I'm so nervous!

Amazing chloe!!! Congrats x

Rachie1986 · 23/12/2016 19:46

Fab news, congrats!

FourKidsNotCrazyYet · 23/12/2016 19:52

Congratulations! I had an eroded cervix during two of my pregnancies that caused bleeding. Once A LOT and the other barely anything. The doctor told me if it's bright red, thin blood without clots then it's less of a worry (but I always did worry!).

Frazzled2207 · 23/12/2016 20:42

Lovely news for Christmas, congratulations Flowers
