Moan alert.... hi everyone, I'm looking for some advice from anyone that can help. It's my first baby, I'm 11 weeks pregnant today. Since I found out, I've had really bad sickness and nausea all the time. Eventually I couldn't cope, as I couldn't even keep down water, so I got some anti sickness tablets from the docs. They appear to work on and off. I have really bad travel sickness where, I'm literally sick every journey. I'm wearing the sick bands but they don't appear to be working either. I'm eating as soon as i wake up, I've tried all the ginger products known to woman, I'm eating little and often and nothing seems to be working. My new test is heartburn! Or where my throat is so inflamed, from being sick multiple times a day for the last 9 ish weeks!!! I feel so full (Even though I'm not) and even soup won't go down. I'm really trying to enjoy the pregnancy, but as you might be able to tell..... it's difficult. Is anyone else in the same boat? I suppose I just want to know I'm not alone. Thank you in advance. 😕x

You've posted in "bloggers chat" - report your post and have it moved to pregnancy, I'm sure you will get some help there.

Good luck, sounds truly awful Flowers

Hi OP. We've moved this over to Pregnancy for you. Hope you get some good advice there. In the meantime, have a look at our pages on hyperemesis and morning sickness for some more ideas. Hope you start to feel better soon.

You have described how I am feeling to the last sad keystroke. Except I am only 8 weeks and wondering how I will servive another 5+... Sad

You are definitely not alone, although it feels lonely doesnt it? I have been signed off work so just sat at home. I feel sick from the minute I wake up until I go to sleep. The only relief I get is when I nap during the day.

We tried for a while and are so happy to be pregnant but I am struggling to enjoy it which is making me so sad.

Hi Holly,

Sorry to hear you're going through it too. I'm currently still going to work, but it's a bit hit and miss at the moment.
I just feel really isolated and like I'm moaning all the time!!! My hormones are raging too. Im just so fed up of feeling like this. Xx

Sorry you are feeling so grim.... Sometimes they will double up on the tablets (give you 2 different types together, not double dose of the same ones).... At least it gives you options?

Good luck and I hope the worst passes soon X

I felt sick my whole first trimester but not as bad as you describe so very sorry. It truly sucks. If you can afford it, accupuncture might help.

A friend of mine told me to try original Lucozade and it worked for me too. Heartburn stick around for the duration after about 15 weeks (I think! I'm 40+4 now) and I used Gaviscon until I got sick of the sight of it at around 25 weeks. Milk has worked since then. Hope one of these suggestions work for you.

No practical advice wrt easing the sickness, but please don't feel bad that you're going through it. Just because you're struggling doesn't mean that you aren't happy about having a child. I think we can hold ourselves to such a high expectation of how to feel and behave, and all it does is make us feel guilty when we, enviably don't reach it. I found this especially in my early days of motherhood too. I had a very clear expectation of how I saw things going and when they didn't go like that I felt bad. Looking back it was ridiculous but it certainly didn't feel it at the time.

Go easy on yourselves. Whether you tried for two minutes, ten years or not at all, you have the right to feel miserable Flowers

I totally feel your pain Insomniac17, I'm 9+3 and have been sick every day for the last 4 weeks. It makes the time go really slow and last week I had to be put on bed rest as the dr said I was too dehydrated. I'm not taking anything as did last time and had a mmc. Even though it's not related I'm paranoid so just using wrist bands, have constant supply of ginger biscuits by the bed and lots of bread. Cuppasoups seem to help because of the salty ingredients but on top of everything I have a cold and cough. Only thing that keeps me going is after every scan (I've had 3 due to mmc last time) when I allow myself to get excited but I do keep telling my hubby that 'pregnancy is not glamorous' and the heartburn with sickness serious sucks! You are not alone Smile
