Christmas present ideas for first time dad to be DH

Our first baby is due next year and although we are going to hold out buying most baby things until at least the new year when I'm further along, I wanted to get DH some nice dad to be gifts for Christmas (we're not buying each other much this year babies are expensive!).

So if there's any books or things you recommend for dad's, please let me know

I'd say a voucher or an iou for a meal at his favourite restaurant or cinema so you can spend quality time together before your baby arrives.

Don't want to piss on your chips, but DH thought the commando dad book was crap - confusing/inconsistent advice. It is a bargain novelty though. I also bought him the Haines manual from eBay and some of the advice was out of date. Maybe see when it was last published.

Perhaps an iou for some pre-baby quality time?
