If you'd commented on my size pre-pregnancy I'd have likely punched you in he face, but at 6 months pregnant, I'm just likely to have a huge hormonal breakdown and feel terribly self-conscious! Argh.

I dreamt I gave birth to a litter of kittens when expecting ds!

Im very conscious of my bump this time round as i had a tummy on me before (size 18) so i already look 10 weeks further on than what i actually am!

Me too Bobby, which is probably why I was rather sensitive to the comment! I'm 6 months and look like I did when I was about 8 last time! She didn't have to point it out though!

Lady at work said I was about to pop! I didn't think i was that big! I think sometimes people just say whatever is in there head.

I'm pleased I laughed it off, as I thought it would upset me.

Take no notice. I particularly remember one day when I was around seven months pg and someone asked if I was expecting twins because I appeared enormous. I wasn't, and felt thoroughly miserable because I looked so big. I was overthinking, wondering what was wrong with me or the baby until... later that day I was somewhere else and someone commented on how small I was for seven months pg and asked if my dates might be wrong. Totally ridiculous. Be guided by your midwife and ignore everyone else! Wishing you well

Oh god...'is it twins?' I don't think people mean to be rude but it can be quite hurtful. For me it was, but one sadly died in utero so I tell anyone who comes out with this stupid comment so- luckily no one has made me cry yet! And hopefully there are a few less people in the world who think this is an amusing comment. Even without what has happened to me I'd find this irritating. Nobs.

When I was about 7 months along with my DS a man I was serving glanced over the counter and said "God you look like you're about to pop" his wife proceeded to give him the "are you thick" glare and he went beet red when I told him when I was due. But I did feel super self conscious for the rest of that day despite the fact that everyone else I knew or talked to said how tiny I look and some wouldn't even notice the bump instantly.
It's funny how one bad comment can trump all the good ones.

I don't understand why people do this!

I was trying to sell tickets to a show at the theatre because I couldn't go and one women said to me "well you wouldn't fit in the seats anyway" and laughs as if it's the funniest thing she ever said!

Granted my bumps pretty big but I don't need other people to point it out, I feel self conscious enough!

DM: "you're much bigger than last time". Colleague: "looks like you're about to pop!" Midwife: "you're actually measuring a bit under for this stage of pregnancy." Ha!

People are dicks.

It boils my piss that people think it's ok to comment on women's bodies anyway but especially when they're pregnant. I was super self conscious when I was pg and the comments drove me insane. I started saying "shall we now critique your body? You know since you felt the need to comment on mine and all?" Soon shut people up.

Idiots. I think commenting on bump size should be banned.

I hate it! I'm hugely body conscious and finding the concept of being 'fat' very difficult. I'm 22 weeks, and have a sizeable bump, I guess it looks quite big because I'm quite petite. At our check ups, baby and I are measuring normal, but there is one lady in particular at work who keeps telling me how huge I am! I hate it!
There are lots of other lovely people as well of course who say what a lovely neat bump, and I look really well. However, I'd sooner people didn't talk about my weight/ size at all.
I just breathe and think to myself, I'm growing a perfect, beautiful baby. That's all that matters.

FIL kept commenting last time (baby no 3) how much bigger I was and I was measuring small for my dates and had to have an extra scan (she was fine, just tightly curled up). His reaction when DH told him I was pregnant with no 4 was 'Oh no'.... brilliant! I'm sure he'll tell me I'm the size of a house before I get to 6 months this time (if I do)

Shriking - I think we must have the same FIL....mine told me how different my face looks (I have put a lot of weight on in my face I admit) and kept pointing this out during our weekend stay with him. He also said while looking at me that women always let themselves go after childbirth. Charming

People always used to say how small I was. I just told them that the bump was measuring absolutely fine and that that was just how baby had decided to sit. Quite a few people still hadn't noticed when I was 8 months gone. I guess it can also depend on how you dress. I didn't like mat wear so went for longer, less fitted blouses. The kind that pre pregnancy I'd wear tucked in. I think that probably made it look less obvious as well.

DH's aunt commented when visiting us when DD was 5 days old "you look better with some weight on your face..." I was [shocked] Horrible thing to say.
