Talk to me about your iCandy Peach

Spent hours in Mothercare on Saturday pushing empty prams around, folding them up, swapping seat for carry cot for carseat etc (what have I become?). Went in keen on the Oyster 2, left feeling that was too bulky and there is nothing better on the market than the Peach. Of course, it happens to be the most expensive one.

Anyone have a Peach already? Is it worth the huge price tag? I will need to do a lot of walking to and from school with 6 year old DD and would like to be able to handle a pushchair and hold her hand at the same time as the roads around us are so busy.

Any tips on where to get the best deals? They seem quite a carefully controlled brand, price wise.

I liked mine but it was very bulky and the fact that you had two parts to fold it was not always practical. However it was extremely easy to manoeuvre despite its weight.
For your daughter, you could use one of these straps for her to hold. Pushing with one hand won't be particularly easy.
It was pricey but has a decent resale value.

Oh yes good point Dial. Judging by eBay prices I should get half back again when I sell it, assuming I haven't trashed it.

I'm telling DH to view it as a rental...we'love use it for a couple of years then sell it on for about half the original cost, so effectuveky we're spending £500 on a two year rental and that's only £5 a week....

So far he's not convinced, but that's my argument!

If you might have any more it converts really well to a double as well.

The thing to bear in mind is that, if like me you use your pram every day, several times a day, it is super important to have something that works well for you. If not, a couple of years down the line you might be tempted to buy another property.
The basket underneath was big, I liked that too.

Mine is currently on baby #2 and I still love it. Pushing one handed while holding the 5 year old's hand is easy, which I can't do with the City Mini we use for nursery. I love that it's narrower than most 'big' trqvel systems so doorways etc are never a problem.

I love ours still used daily over four years on for dd2. You can push it one handed and I do for the school run each day. Will be used for dc3 next year.

I have an I candy peach I bought second hand as a double. (For £550) I like it although it has a heavy frame. It is very easy to push with one hand and the basket is a great size.

We loved ours although with both dc they grew out of it before they grew out of needing a buggy. They are average height children! So we had a lightweight mclaren from around 2 years.

We got one for ds who was born 3 years ago. I did like it but we won't use it for next baby (not even pregnant yet btw 😂). It's lovely to look at, very very easy to push and I loved the big basket. However like a pp ds had outgrown it last summer when he was just over 2 and he's not especially huge. I also found it very heavy, I got so fed up lugging it in and out the boot several times a day and of the two piece fold, although most prams seem to be like this now. The frame got scraped so easily and the icandy writing on the side had rubbed off within a few months.

I did love our icandy peach - pretty manoeuvrable once you have got your head round the face that the wheel base is wider than the top, very easy to push with one hand etc and DD seemed happy in it. We got ours 2nd hand on ebay in very good condition for about £500 cheaper than new. I would highlight the following however. Handles - a known weakness for icandy is that the wire inside snaps and you then can't adjust it or, more crucially, collapse the pushchair. We were able to repair rather than replace but still cost us a bit and the same fault recurred although luckily just covered by repair warranty. Also the wheel arches at the front where the small non-removable wheels are clog up very easily with mud if you go off road. When they do clog the wheels stop turning and a couple of times was reduced to dragging it home backwards! As we wanted a buggy which could cope with going off the beaten track as well as having something small enough for round town it was very annoying. Should point out this was the peach 2 so they may have improved their design since.

We love ours. The main selling point for id is that it converts into a double pray, as we don't want a long gap between children. It's easy to fold down and put up, sturdy and really smooth to push.

If you go to a Mothercare Expectant Parent even they offer 10% off everything, which includes the icandy. We got our peach and also our car seat at one of the events and saved a few hundred pounds.

jenniuol the peach seat frame expands at the top (and bottom iirc) so should be able to fit your child until 3/4 or even 5. My ds was very tall at 2 and he fit in it fine

I do love my peach and will use it for baby no 2, but I do wish it was a one handed single fold like my sisters baby jogger city pram. I almost bought that pram too as it's super easy to fold but I liked the way the peach looked more and also anticipated using it as a double. Apart from the folding annoyance it's lovely to use and very smooth, very nimble around busy areas

My children are 98th centile for height and my 4 year old who is the same height as an average 5/6 year old can still fit in.

We've just bought a icandy peach blossom for our twin girls due in January. We got 10% off via the mothercare baby event. We did look at the oyster but found it a little bit bulky. The icandy looks well made. Hopefully once we are finished with the pushchair we can sell it on and get some of the money back.

We have the Peach and so far so good (baby is only 4 months old so can only comment on it up to a point!)

We got the maxi cosi pebble plus as it fits on the pram with adaptors. I ended up only putting the car seat on the pram a handful of times as I was worried about ds sitting in the car seat for too long. Ds now screams whenever put in the maxi cosi (I don't think the seat is necessarily at fault, he just doesn't like being so reclined) so we have ended up buying an extended rear facing car seat that is suitable from birth for him to go in.

With hindsight I wouldn't have bothered with the pebble plus and would have gone straight for the bigger seat. Just thought I'd flag it as something to consider!

I have peach 3 for DS who is 2 years 3 months. I love it & have never bought a stroller so it's got a lot of use (I do a lot of walking),

My problem is that the accessories to convert to a double (expecting no 2 in May) are around £400 new which i wasn't expecting!

Seriously considering purchasing a bugaboo donkey double for the next arrival.

I would say look at something smaller also.

Did you look at the icandy raspberry or bugaboo bee?

The reason being that if you have a 6 year old, baby needs to fit in with their schedule more than the other way around. So you might need to fold the pram if seeing school play, or pram in and out car at weekend or on buses. A one piece fold that is lightweight will be far easier and last until 3+. Plus easy to push one handed

A consideration is that with two children you have more stuff that also might need to fit in the car if you go somewhere, so smaller folding can be helpful

I would also say look at whether you want car seat to go on pram. It isn't recommended more than 30mins use at a time now due to studies on their airways and oxygen levels reduced in that position. Car seats with baby in also get very heavy to carry quickly. An extended rear facing seat stays in the car, but lasts newborn-4+ years so mean syou save on buying two seats in the first 4/5 years.
