TTc and I'm dreading morning sickness second time around. Managed to just about avoid it first time because I could work from home. This time I'll be doing the school run! All my friends tell me its worse second time around. Is this the case or is it impossible to generalise?

My first pregnancy I felt terrible all the time like I was on a boat, but wasn't sick THAT often - like 5 times or so.

2nd pg I felt fine for most of the time, but would just suddenly have to go and throw up with virtually no warning and i was probably sick 20/25 times. But it somehow wasn't so bad as I didn't feel constantly awful. Much better if I did some exercise, too.

I don't particularly think it's down to tiredness. I have a pretty easy time of it (dh not working and shares most of the "duties"), plus I get to sneak off for naps when I need them . But the hormone that causes morning sickness (can't remember what it is) can increase in subsequent pregnancies. At least I think that's what happens anyway. Mears - come along and tell me I'm talking bolleaux please

Horrendously sick with ds1 and ds3 but much milder with ds2. In fact that child has never given me any trouble! All of my grey hairs have been caused by ds1 and ds3.

First was a girl - quite bad.

Second a boy - dreadful.

Third a boy - awful but just about manageable.

Fourth a boy - thought I was going to die.

I'm not having any more.

Ever.
