Baby equipment new or used ?

So I'm curious to kno did everyone else buy new or used baby things when pregnant and why I've chosen to buy new and used due to budget I'm due Xmas day here's what I have so far

Silver cross elegance pram - used £130
Moses basket and stand used £30 -New mattress
Sterilser new £35
Bottles £10
Bouncer chair new £50

Still to buy clothes and changing mat
Also going for a used perfect prep machine and blankets

We got everything second hand except mattress and car seats. I get a lot of pleasure from a good eBay bargain!

We splurged and bought everything new, but we only shopped when things were on sale.

Hint to friends and family for the clothes, blankets, bibs and even nappies :D we got loads of gifts!

We have bought the cot second hand (new mattress though). The one I wanted new was about £750, but got the frame on eBay for £100 and then paid another £150 for a new mattress. Bought an antique chest of draws for little one's room instead of a new furniture set from Mothercare or the like (I think they're a waste of money, those 'furniture for baby's room' packages).

Almost everything else is new. We splurged on a Bugaboo Donkey (managed to find it on sale though!) but we want to have a few children so we're hoping this will be the only buggy we have to purchase.

Definitely don't be shy about requesting specific things when people ask what you want!

I am having a mix of second hand and new. Keeping an eye out for a second hand cot at the moment on gumtree and eBay (will buy a brand new mattress of course). We had bought a new travel system and then my mum called me saying her friend who works in a posh charity shop had called and they had been donated a mamas and papas pushchair and carrycot and did I want it for £25. So I may return the new travel system and just buy a new car seat. Waiting to see the pushchair today.
