Breast lump- reassurance??

Hi all,

I am looking for some reassurance. I'm 32, and 33 weeks pregnant with my first baby.

I found a lump in my breast this evening. It's hard, painless and about the size of a pea. It's quite 'deep' in (I have big boobs and have to squish in to them a bit to feel it) but it's very definitely there.

Obviously I will get it checked out asap and obviously I know there is a chance it could be something to worry about, but can I just get some kindness and reassurance that it probably isn't? Anyone had anything similar? Apparently blocked milk ducts are painful and red, it's neither of those things so prob not that, but I'm still hoping it's something totally harmless.

I know no-one can diagnose me over the Internet, I'm not looking for that, just some perspective so I can stop panicking and go to sleep...

Sorry I didn't want to read this and not post anything.
I had a small peas sized mobile lump in my breast at around nineteen weeks, it now seems to have disappeared.
I was frantic for a couple of days, OH couldn't feel the lump and I even got my mum to check and neither could she.
Anyway I thought I'd give it two weeks and when I went back to check I couldn't find it.
I think lumps are quite common in pregnancy.

Go and see your GP tomorrow but try and get some rest tonight

I found a few lumps in my chest and breast whilst pregnant with my 2nd son. I was extremely worried. I visited gp and was referred to the hospital and had them checked by a specialist and a mammogram. They said all was fine u was 24 at the time and around 20 weeks pregnant.

Just get it checked beat to be safe I'm sure everything will be fine xx

Obviously get it checked, but it could be your milk ducts getting ready. I could feel mine from about 35 weeks on my first pregnancy.

Do get it checked but I had this during pregnancy, it was a fibrodenoma, changes in hormones during pg can cause them. It shrunk of its own accord.

Sorry, didn't explain that very well, it could be a duct without it being blocked so it wouldn't be red, sore, infected, etc.

I had one of these appear whilst pg and continued through breastfeeding and put it down to that. I didn't get it looked at the entire time (2.5 years) but six months after stopping feeding it was still there so I saw my GP. He said it was unlikely to be anything sinister as it hadn't grown in all that time and to keep an eye on it. He thought it was likely linked to hormones. Lo and behold, within days of finally seeing my GP it went and never returned

I suggest seeing your GP. Just to hopefully put your mind at rest x

Thanks everyone, that's really reassuring. I have an appointment with my OBGYN on Thursday anyway so I will ask then. I'm sure it's nothing but I'm at that stage of pregnancy, I think, where everything has the capacity to seriously freak me out!!

I had one that appeared during pregnancy, in fact it's still there.

Had it checked and FNA taken and it's some sort of benign duct type swelling.

Mine is non painful too, try not to worry!
