Maternity bras of doom

Argh! I hate them. I have mothercare ones at the moment. I don't want lace or nursing bras but these are so uncomfortable! I was measured first and they're the correct size, any ideas on other stores that have comfy ones? Or is it a case of deal with them for next 5 months?

Just wear a normal bra? Underworld are fine if fitted correctly.

I can't bear the underwire either. My chest is too sensitive at the moment!

I bought non underwired normal bras from m&s. The soft touch ones are particularly comfortable!

I've got maternity ones from Debenhams. good price, plain black and skin coloured. Comfy on my very itchy boobs!

Bravissimo - bit pricey but they are very comfortable for me. I've bought maternity/nursing bras so hopefully they can keep being used when the baby comes.

Who measured you? As far as I know mothercare use the 'add extra inches' method so it may not be the correct size.

2 pack non wired, non maternity t shirt bras. They're brilliant. So comfy and surprisingly supportive (I'm a 34D gone upto DD in pregnancy).

Anita. It took me two pregnancies to find them but my god they are amazing. They have a soft underwire and are suitable for breastfeeding. They are nothing short of amazing!

If Mothercare also measured you, you are not in the correct size.

Bravissimo are amazing, by far my favourite. But non wired M&S do nicely also. Mothercare ones I had were horrible, very itchy.

I also recommend the soft touch non underwired ones from m and s. Really comfy and worthw every penny

Mothercare measured me. The cup isn't the problem but the weight I've put on round my back. I was already broad and i can't find bigger than 40.

They have probably put you in a back size that is too big and a cup that is too small. Can you measure according to the guide I linked to above to get an idea of what size you should look for?

I was a 36G pre pregnancy so buying (comfy) maternity bras has been a nightmare. I found m&s non wired, nursing bras great. Really comfy and good value for money. And when the fit got a little bit tight(!!) I have just bought bra extenders from eBay. Saved a lot of money on buying new bras for the 3rd trimester

I'm normally a 38AA / A and I've been put in a 40B as I measure 39! And one boob has grown to a B, but the other is still a AA

I do not believe for one second that you are an AA cup as that means you measure exactly the same under your breasts as around the fullest part of your bust. A would mean just one inch difference. Have you measured using the link?

I second Anita bras. So comfy. I got mine off Figleaves. Also Bravissimo are good.

Mother care measured me as 3 back sizes bigger than any other place I went to get measured, and the bras they had me tried on did nothing. I'd avoid at all costs.

Where do you measure 39? At your ribcage/the fullest part of your bust? I don't think mothercare measures without adding extra to the back size so I really don't think they have given you the correct sized bra

Hate Mothercare mat bras!!! Bought 2 wore them for 2 days then went bra-less for a week while I waited for a fitting appointment at m&s, they were more expensive but so so so worth it! Just got normal non underwire ones, same size as Mothercare, but better made, better material just so much more comfy!!! Made a huge difference I was despairing that I'd be stuck in those Mothercare ones and that was how it would be, most upsetting! Get yourself down m&s!

39 is under bust measurement round my back. One boob is still pretty flat. Always been broad and flat chested! It just seems one has grown! I will try m&s like suggested
