Which Pram

I am 13 weeks pregnant and have started looking into the pram issue. When I had DD I was a student and got what I was given.(an 8 year old mama and papa's pram that did what it needed to) This time around tho I want to buy a new pram. Am looking now to figure out how much I need to save. Wouldn't buy till about 7-8 months preg.

I can't decide. When I am on Mat Leave DP will be using the car to go to work in Manchester so I'll be on foot or the bus to get about, but of a weekend we will use the car and MIL will take me places in her car during the week.

So my dilemma is.....
Do I get a travel system pram with a car seat attached ( but the baby may be in the car seat a while while I walk) so I have a car seat for the car or get a Two in One pram where the baby can lie flat for long walks but I'd need to buy a separate car seat for the car. Each has its pro's and con's and I can't decide. I like the look of the 2in1's but how well do they collapse to fit in the boot of a car. The travel system will incorperate the pushchair when baby is about six months. The 2in1 will involve buying a pushchair at a later date( as well as the car seat)

Hi there, sorry to jump on on your thread. i'm new to mumnt, although I've been following it for a while. i bought the pilko pramette online today after spending some time in M&P yesterday and deciding that it was really good. After readig some posts on here though, I'm wondering if I've been a bit hasty- does it really not fold in the pram position? how on earth do you get round that on a daily basis with a newborn?
oooops!

PCM I've got marina too, lovely navy and cream! thanks let us know about the 3D, everytime we go to MC we have a look at the 3D and feel sad when we have to leave it behide! OMG is that the time must check coggy and go to bed, chat soon!

pinguthepenguin a friend of mine has the pliko pramette and she cant fold it when it's in the pram position ( to make it a pram, a part is ziped over the bumper bar which stops it folding) I think she said that her manual reads "to fold the pliko pramette needs to be put in the pushchair position first then it can be folded" or something like that! off to bed, find out more, if I can tomorrow!

I had a 2in1. Hate the thought of babies being in a car seat for so long. MOst babies sleep through being lifted. Well my 2 did.

I FOLDED THE PRAMETTE IN THE PRAM POSITISION. oops. i just lifted the foot/head part up and folded as normal without unzipping. its very easy to do, and to put it back to lie flat you just need one hand to put the backrest back down.

Thanks misdee I'll tell my friend to do that, she will be pleased as she really feed up with the pramette system at the momnt with the folding and now her little boy is a sicky baby and has to take the seat/pram cover off every 5mins to clean the dam thing, i will tell her about the leg rest thanks!
