Pregnant but may be not

I have regular 25 days cycle but I missed my periods in May. My hubby & I are newly married & not using any protection since 3 months so we thought I may be pregnant. 3 pregnancy tests result is negative. After 40 days now am seeing few blood clots. So am expecting I will get my periods in 2 or 3 days. What does this mean? Was I almost pregnant but something wasnt favorable? Has any one experienced the same?

Sometimes you just ovulate late and so have a long cycle that month.
