Best Maternity Leggings? No see through bums!!

Hi, can anyone recommend maternity over bump leggings? I bought some from asda which are good only £8 but a bit see through on the bum! I then thought I'd get some from seraphine as they are the more expensive ones but the material was just like tights!
My friends with kids all raved about the mamas and papas leggings but it seems they don't make them anymore!
Just want a thick cotton over bump that's not see through.
Thanks! Smile

Not directly answering your question but a tip - avoid the Topshop leggings. I bought two pairs when I first found out I was pregnant, thinking they were quite thick and therefore would not be see through. However, they are see through on the bum when I bend over and as they have been washed multiple times, the material on the legs has thinned too.

I'm not sure there are any leggings that don't go see through!

I had Asos, Mothercare and H&M. All see-through, even when sized up. Mind you, it wasn't really an issue as I only wore them under dresses. Leggings as trousers isn't a good idea IMO.

m&s

These are brilliant but only available in navy which is really annoying!!

LadyKate · 10/06/2016 07:55

i would never wear leggings as trousers normally but I've tried four different maternity jeans so far with no joy (topshop, seraphine new look h and m) and can't get a single pair that fit comfortably. 12s tend to be too small and 14s too big. The leggings would only be under a long t shirt or dress.

I got some from jojo maman which are the best I found.
H&m ones are comfiest but still see through!

bessie84 · 10/06/2016 08:03

I got next size up in mothercare, no see through bum. pack of 2 for £15. x

Pootles2010 · 10/06/2016 08:05

Dorothy perkins - mine are a nice grey colour which goes with everything. They're quite fleecy so bit warm on a hot day, definitely not see through!

suspiciousofgoldfish · 10/06/2016 08:11

John Lewis maternity leggings.

Or red herring.

But i am still slightly sceptical on leggings as trousers as a PP said, so I always wear long tops/dresses over them.

DrWhy · 10/06/2016 08:16

JoJo Maman Bebe are the best I've found by miles, only wear them with dressesso far but would probably try a tunic with them.
Jeans from the same place are my only trousers.

Belager · 10/06/2016 08:26

I second Dorothy Perkins!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 10/06/2016 08:34

Gap! A bit more pricey but they are fantastic - and actually I wore a pair of non-maternity ones right to the end of my pregnancy (and I was big!). They are forever having discount codes so you won't need to pay full price for them! I also bought a few pairs of cropped leggings in the same style from their maternity range but to be Honest they are identical to the normal ones. I am on my phone and can't seem to link but just search gap leggings and they are the gap Pure Body leggings, £22.95 in grey or black.

Flossiesmummy · 10/06/2016 09:05

I'm wearing Primark non maternity ones. I'm 37 weeks, measuring 39. They're £3 a pair and really opaque. They come up quite high - just over belly button.

redexpat · 10/06/2016 09:18

I got some on eBay from leggings HQ I think it was called.

LadyKate · 10/06/2016 11:57

Thanks everyone!

Jo Jo are best imho. No see through bum and comfy.

CottonSock · 10/06/2016 16:12

My mamas and papas ones have lasted two pregnancies. Cheap ones lasted about a month each

plimsolls · 10/06/2016 16:16

Topshop have maternity "jegging" style over bump things for £22. Not as soft as leggings but might be more what you're after? Black or denim.

CharlW1 · 10/06/2016 16:28

After going on a long hint for ones that aren't see through (I've tried cheap and expensive makes) the best ones I found were from Peacocks - £9 a pair and are thick and over the bump.

Uiscebeatha85 · 10/06/2016 18:10

The Asos 2 pack leggings are good and so comfortable, I've lived in mine practically. They're not see through IMO

LumpishAndIllogical · 10/06/2016 18:51

New look ones didn't seem seen through to me!

Highlove · 10/06/2016 21:11

JoJo leggings are still going strong at nearly 32 weeks with DC2, having bought and lived in them in my first pregnancy. They're nice and thick and they also stay up, so double bonus.

Also, not what you asked but it's come up up thread - Next maternity over-bump skinny jeans are ace. Not as skinny as I'd normally go for, but pretty good. I've tried pretty much every other high street store with no joy, but these are great. I don't normally shop in Next but was desperate and am now living in them!

kiki22 · 10/06/2016 21:11

I have new look not see through as far as I can tell but I always wear black pants that cover everything with leggings so you can't tell even if they are we through.
