How many cycles to conceive DC2?

I know this has probably been done to death and everyone is different etc etc, but humour me! AF has just arrived on cycle 1. DC1 was conceived on cycle 2, so I'm hoping I won't have to go through too many TWWs this time....!!

DC1 = cycle 1 (thought we had just got lucky)
DC2 (due in Nov 2016) = cycle 1 (my husband now genuinely believes he has super sperm that can impregnate anything Hmm)
I think my luck in the fertility department has a lot to do with my age. I was 19 when DD was conceived and 21 when DC2 was conceived.

QueenMolotov · 20/05/2016 18:47

Dd1 - 9 cycles
Dd2 - 22 cycles (including 6 cycles of clomid)
Dc3 - 3 cycles (am 22w pg Smile)

OrianaBanana · 20/05/2016 18:51

DC1 - 9 months
DC2 - 1 year (miscarried)
DC3 - 2 cycles after miscarriage

BikeRunSki · 20/05/2016 20:21

Both DC on first cycle.

SaltMarshPirate · 20/05/2016 20:30

Both cycle 1. x

laughingGnomette · 20/05/2016 20:38

3 pregnancies all on the first cycle, the middle one was ectopic though.

CassandraAusten · 20/05/2016 20:41

DC1 3 cycles
DC2 1 cycle
DC3 1 cycle

LillyBugg · 20/05/2016 20:46

DS - 3 cycles

Now...6 cycles and counting :(

It's so disheartening that it's taking longer second time around. I think for the first, he was desperately wanted but honestly we had all the time in the world. Now every day that passes just makes the gap between my potential children longer which really gets me down. Finding it hard to let go.

Good luck to everyone!

Brieandstilton · 20/05/2016 20:51

One. Turned out to be DC2 and DC3.

DC1 took four months.

wiltingfast · 20/05/2016 20:59

Two cycles.

But never managed to get dc3 despite 3 years trying, weird weird don't understand it.

crayfish · 21/05/2016 08:13

Lillybug I feel the same as you, I keep working out the potential age gap between DS and a possible sibling and it just keeps getting bigger. I'm not an optimist by nature unfortunately so I keep feeling like it's not going to happen.

Squashybanana · 21/05/2016 08:35

Dc1 - 2 cycles
Dc2 - 1 cycle
Dc3 - 1 cycle immediately after m/c
Dc4 - accident!

LillyBugg · 21/05/2016 08:36

Hi crayfish, I have to say it has started to cross my mind that DS could be an only. But then I try and be sensible because people try a lot longer and it works. It's just hard to not get bogged down in it all. What age gap are you currently looking at? I think we're on 2yrs 5mo now, I was aiming for 2 yrs. I'm lucky in that I have short cycles so o my 5 months but on attempt 6.

TheEagle · 21/05/2016 08:38

DC1 - first cycle
DC2 & 3 (DTs) - 2 cycles

Not sure I'm brave enough for DC4 in case I conceive another set of twins Shock

Metalhead · 21/05/2016 10:09

DC1 - 2 cycles
DC2 - 4 cycles but ended in mc, then took 11 cycles to conceive again. I'd nearly given up...

kiki22 · 21/05/2016 10:47

Depends how you look at it for me
Ds2 15 months from stopping contraception but 3 cycles once my period returned.
Ds1 1st cycle

m33r · 21/05/2016 12:00

DS - 20 months
DC - 3 cycles of realy trying but 9 months on no contraception (but did BF for 6). Ended in mc and am on third cycle now.

Age gap will 23 months of we conceive this month.

Just want to be pregnant again. So worried we'll be another 20minths. Sad DH also 44 so could do with getting a move on Sad having wine tonight to cheer myself up xx

SerenityReynolds · 21/05/2016 12:01

DC1 - 6 weeks
DC2 - 8 months!

Frazzled2207 · 21/05/2016 12:03

DC1 2 years
DC2 we dtd once Shock

EllenDegenerate · 21/05/2016 12:15

DS1 first cycle
DD1 first cycle
DS2 first cycle
DD2 accident
This pregnancy was an accident too

crayfish · 21/05/2016 12:49

To be fair DS is only 10 months but I wanted a small gap as I'm getting on a bit. If I wasn't late 30s I think I would relax a bit more about the whole thing and aim for a bigger gap, I just feel like everyone is telling me to 'hurry up and have a second before it's too late' Confused

soundsystem · 21/05/2016 13:03

DC1 4 cycles
Currently PG with DC2 which has taken 10 cycles, then a miscarriage, then 2 cycles

SunnyDays1987 · 22/05/2016 01:31

Thanks for all the replies. Good luck to those trying and congratulations to everyone currently pregnant Smile

Dc1 - 5 cycles aged 30
Dc2 - 4 cycles aged 33 (and far less fit and healthy- although much more chilled out about TTC generally)

Good luck! Xx
