small embryo but sure of dates.

Had a scan today, I'm 6+2 sure of dates of LMP but embryo is measuring around a week behind at 2.4mm.

I had a small bleed when I first found out I was pregnant and can't get past 2-3 weeks on clear blue digital pregnancy test. All this is making me worry.

Anyone else been through something similar?

I've just been through this with my current pregnancy. Thought I was having another MMC but we went in a week after the first scan and there he was, with a strong heartbeat and measuring perfectly for my dates as he'd grown heaps and caught up. I hope you have the same result.

Early scans are not always accurate. Mine have always been around a week out very early on. This time even my 12 week scan was 4-5 days out. It dated me as concieving just 5 days before I had my positive test.

Oh ok. She started mentioning that it could have edwards syndrome and verious other condtions. Really don't no why she said that. We are all ready waiting for genetic testing at 11 weeks as our oldest son is severely disabled and we have a 1 in 4 chance of passing he's genetic condtion on. That why I had the scan yesterday to date my pregnancy for the CVS test. Going back the 1st week in June so hopefully get some postive news then.

You're in exactly the same position as me. I was 6+4 on weds when I had a scan because of bleeding. They've put me back to 5+4. She didn't seem concerned - just said that they are hard to measure at that size and maybe I ovulated at a different time.

I'm worried to be honest

I had an early scan to rule out ectopic. I put myself at 6+5 but measured 5+6. They did see a heartbeat and fetal pole though and we're at pains to say it was very early which can make the results inaccurate. I had my dating scan in Monday and they put me at 12+6 - only one day off my original calculation!

I was put back 2 weeks at my first scan, back one week at the one a week later and then back exactly on my calculated date at my 12 week (which turned out to be a 13+2 week scan).

Thanks everyone, I didn't realise it could be so common she was very negative. Chelle hope everything turns out ok for you to. It is really worry feel like I'm in limbo now untill I gave the next scan as u don't no what is going on.

Have you been told.your 12 week scan will be later? I was told they would delay my 12 week.scan by a week. So instead of the five week wait it should be i now have a six week wait (assuming scan is dead on 12 weeks, which I.know it wont be).

I have read lots of positive outcomes after people have been found to be measuring small for their dates. Unfortunately I have hades good experiences with 3 separate pregnancies both of which have measured 1 week smaller than they should have. However, I was slightly further on -7 weeks and had heartbeats but we're small for dates and o went on to miscarry both times. Hopefully will work out fine for you and don't want to be all doom and gloom but do want you to be prepared it might be bad news although I guess you already are. It's horrible having these worries,

No they've haven't said when my 12 week scan will be they are trying to date my pregnancy for CVS atm Chelle. Suppose I will just have to wait untill next scan it's on the 2nd of June. 😣

Hi everyone, had my scan today and now only measuring a few days behind and even thing is fine baby was wriggling about and head a strong heart beat. Just wanted to post for anyone reading this is the future. How have things gone for you Chelle?

I don't think it's that uncommon, although I was also worried at the beginning. Was scanned at 6+3 to rule out ectopic and baby measured 5+4. Had a heartbeat, though. My consultant said it's nothing to worry about and that they are so tiny at that point, they can be hard to measure.
Went back four weeks later for reassurance scan at the EPU and baby had not only caught up, but I was now measuring two days ahead of my initial dates (so 10+5, instead of 10+3 as I had said/9+4 as the first scan had suggested).
We've got our 12 week scan next week, when I'll be 13+3 but that came through based on the first scan.
