24 Weeks - Decreased Movement

Hi all,

I'm 24 weeks pregnant today, and I've been having horrific diarrhoea (sorry! TMI) for the past 3 days. I didn't think much of it, but today I've felt less movement from Baby than I would like, and I also had the tiniest amount of pinkish spotting when I went to pee before.
I've had a very busy couple of days, running after a sick toddler, and I'm worried I've missed some signs that could indicate a problem? I honestly have no recollection of movement all weekend, but that just could be because of how exhausted and worried I've been about my DS (he's 2, autistic and has croup atm

Any advice? It's very late in the night now, so I wouldn't be able to get to a maternity unit because there's nobody to mind DS as DH is working. It's Bank Holiday tomorrow, I'm just worried they'll just send me away

Defo phone the maternity assessment number you were given . ( should be in your notes if you got one ). I was told by my midwife to call if I have any concerns .. There 24/7 and during hols . ( I'm in Scotland ) Always get checked out if you are worried .. They won't turn you away. The leaflet I got suggested two hours on your left side .. If less than ten movements in this time phone. I'm 24 weeks today.

If it was me I would have phoned for the pink spotting.. Even if I was still getting movement . You can never be too careful .

Please go in even if you have to take DS with you, late or early, Bank holiday or not. Can you at least ring now?

Pretty sure the advice for reduced movement is to phone midwife / maternity unit ASAP. If they want you to come in, do you have anyone you can call on to look after DS as this could be an emergency.

I don't want to sound too dramatic but you should definitely act now rather than wait until the morning - if only for your peace of mind.

You need to call for professional advice now.
It may well be nothing - if you've been busy you may not have noticed movements as much, the spotting could be minor (I had pale pink spotting throughout 1st pregnancy due to a harmless cervical abrasion), but the two combined would have me (21 weeks) concerned.

I rang the MAU last night, and they said to try a warm bath and cold drinks etc
I realised the small amount of blood was actually from a cut I had down there! (Who knew?! )
But I'm on my way to the assessment unit now, as little one still hasn't moved much, and DH is home from work and able to look after DS.
Hoping all is fine, and he's just having a lazy couple of days!

Everything is fine! Turns out my blood pressure was seriously low, so they made me write down what I'd had to eat over the last few days, turns out it wasn't a lot! Apparently the massive dip in blood sugar etc, can cause decreased movement as he's not getting the energy spikes as he usually would have been. I've been running around after DS so much, that food and drink went a little unnoticed. So I'm under strict instructions to rest, eat and drink lots of lucozade haha

Thanks everyone! I was slightly embarrassed when the Midwife read what I'd eaten back to me! I have low blood pressure anyway, so skipping meals is a big 'no no' for me haha

At least all is okay, now that I've had regular meals all day, baby is kicking away happily
