7 weeks pregnant and not many symptoms

Hey guys,

Found out I was pregnant last week and I have been a bag of nerves since! I have really sore boobs but my morning sickness seems to come and go and it's making me worry 😔 Have felt fine the last two days apart from very tired and sore boobs, I am convinced something is wrong and I am doing pregnancy tests all the time. I have my first app with the midwife next week but I honestly can't see myself being able to wait another 4/5 weeks for a scan. I just want to know now that the baby is ok and there is a heartbeat. Are you able to go private for an early scan before 12 weeks?? I am driving myself and my partner nuts!!! Any advice would be great!

It's difficult not to worry about a lack of symptoms, isn't it?

I'm nearly 7 weeks pregnant, and no symptoms except for being more tired than usual. And a missing period.

I'm constantly trying to remind myself that my previous 2 pregnancies were almost symptomless at this stage (I did notice an increased sense of smell the 2nd time), and I currently have 2 healthy boys pushing toy trains around the floor.
So I know it's possible to have no symptoms and still be properly pregnant with a healthy baby, but I'm still nervy about the lack of symptoms.....

I was there not so long ago. Wouldn't have really known I was pregnant apart from the tiredness until I got a bump and started feeling movements. I was worried about the lack of symptoms but it doesn't mean anything. I'm now 38+ weeks. Congratulations.

I posted almost exactly the same a couple of weeks ago. I have since discovered that coffee is my sickness trigger so when I need a bit of reassurance, I have a cup! I have my scan this afternoon so will find out if everything is ok and I'm just one of the lucky ones.

Try not to worry... I was the same, I'm now 9 weeks and the exhaustion has really hit me! I know it's hard to wait for the scan, and you can go private if you want to. Some people find it reassuring but others have said they then kept on worrying in between scans. Personally I'm going to wait.

It sounds to me like you have plenty of symptoms! Tiredness, morning sickness and sore boobs are classic symptoms, even if they come and go. Symptoms are caused by hormone levels that fluctuate so are stronger some days than others. Some women get no symptoms at all. I had nothing with DS1, no sickness, felt fine, boobs as normal throughout. He's now a healthy 5 year old. I know it's hard to worry, but you just have to keep telling yourself that you're pregnant right now and that's what matters.

You can Google private baby scans, they're available usually between about £50-100. I'm 9 weeks and haven't had one. I was absolutely fine until about a week ago when I started feeling off colour occasionally, but I'm just exhausted. I can't find the energy to do anything! But other than sore boobs, I wouldn't have known/believed I was pregnant either and I knew by 10 dpo

I'm 7 weeks as well. 40 and first pregnancy.
I've been completely exhausted, very hormonal at the beginning (when I had no idea when I was pregnant) and have very sore boobs. I have no sickness or nausea yet, just a raging hunger!
I'm trying to resist having an early scan, as I figure there's not much I can do anyway, that I'm not already doing, but I am constantly worried!

Hi, I'm just under 7 weeks as well and feel exactly the same, can't stop worrying. It's reassuring to read that there are others out there feeling the same as I am.

I know I need to relax but seeing these messages have defo helped! I think the main concern is waiting for the scan but I have found somewhere in Cardiff which does early ones so thank you for who ever suggested that... And I am going to book there after the midwife app next week and see what happens 😊 I am sure if something was wrong I would have some symptoms and wouldn't feel very well? But I feel healthy along with just the few symptoms!

I don't agree with you, During 7 weeks pregnancy lots of symptoms. During 7th week of pregnancy most of the women going for 1st ultrasound, you can read more symptoms details here www.pregnancyhealth.net/7-weeks-pregnant-symptoms-and-ultrasound/

Ooh it's a minefield isn't it? Firstly congratulations! Secondly, don't worry too much, try to just think of yourself as one of the lucky ones.

I had nausea on and off (prob more off than on) for about 3 weeks between 6-9, which has now disappeared completely but was never actually sick, except a few times when I overdid it on the exercise. My nipples did feel like my bras were made of sandpaper but that has died down, and I was really, brutally tired from week 4 onwards, but that has got better since week 10ish.

Am now 12+3, have had 3 scans (not because of the lack of symptoms or anything - I am a private patient and it's normal where I live to have them much earlier) and so far everything looks just fine. 2 arms, 2 legs, lovely strong heartbeat and wriggling around so much the doctor struggled to actually take a picture.

Some people really suffer with symptoms, others don't. Think yourself lucky unless you hear otherwise, and just try to enjoy!

Sorry, who don't you agree with madhurivats?
The posters who have all shared their lack of symptoms? I'm not sure that's a very helpful comment. Everyone is different and will have a different experience.

madhurivats there's nothing to disagree with? Some people have symptoms, some don't. Some people choose to have an early scan, some don't.

There's lots of possible pregnancy symptoms, yes. Some women get lots of symptoms. Some women don't.

My pregnancy with DS1, in particular - sure, I was more tired than usual. But without the missing periods, I wouldn't have guessed that anything unusual was going on until he grew big enough for me to feel him kicking.

Thank you your post has made me feel a lot better 😊 I always think the worse in all situations regardless of what they are and my parter just doesn't understand why I get like it and neither do I!! But I suppose I have to remember everyone is different and that doesn't mean that there is something wrong!!
I mean I am shattered now could sleep for hours so I suppose that is a good sign right?
Hopefully seeing the midwife will help next week xx

Don't worry about your lack of symptoms, I was just the same with my first pregnancy! No symptoms really until week 10. Now I'm 6 weeks pregnant with second and feel awful, nausea, aching all over and extreme exhaustion, had to take a day off work because every time I try to stand up I get so dizzy I feel I'm going to faint. I know it's hard when you're worried, I was he order time round, but try to appreciate feeling good, focus on other things, make appointments to see fiends, watch a nice show or go for a swim or something! Once you start to feel bad you'll miss this time : ) I had a private scan at 7 weeks first time around because I was so on edge about the whole thing and it dos really calm me down, but only for a week or so, then I started worrying again! But if you can afford it and feel it'll help, go for it!

I am 21 weeks and felt similar to you at the 7 week stage. My boobs didn't grow at all and were less sore than they had been during some menstrual cycles. I was a bit freaked out by so many people on here going on about vomiting, hyper-sensitivity to smell and severe tiredness. I didn't throw up once and felt more or less normal.

Baby has measured bang on at 12 and 20 week scans and all seems healthy. My MIL and SIL said they were never sick either.

I had a scan at 8 weeks as my baby is IVF and that was part of the IVF package. The embryo doesn't look like a baby but you should see the heart flicker and the measurement will give a fairly accurate indication of whether it is developing properly. Good luck! It's impossible not to worry - I am still worrying a bit now even after a very detailed scan, a bump big enough for strangers to notice and starting to feel the baby move - but it's much much less stressful than those first 12 weeks.

PS I have no idea where madhurivats lives but in the UK it is certainly not normal for most women to have first ultrasound at 7 weeks. 1

I had very few symptoms when I was pregnant, bar very sensitive nipples, being tired, and going off anything vaguely healthy to eat.

Not a glimmer of nausea or morning sickness.

I had an early scan at 7+4 as I'd had a mmc the year before, but it really only reassured me for about 24hrs, and I still had to sit it out until my next scan at 13 weeks.

I've been worrying about my lack of symptoms. Even my boobs didn't feel that sore this morning, although they've go more painful as the day's gone on (can't believe I'm happy about that!). My mum didn't have any sickness though, I guess it's not compulsory.
I've got my mw appointment next week and I can't wait! Then my scan date's come through, but I have to rearrange as I'm out of the country.

I am 12 weeks and apart from headaches which began about 10 days ago and spots which started this week, I have just spent the time frantically worrying about no symptoms. My boobs are fine, I have no nausea, no food cravings/aversions, no increased appetite, I am not more tired than normal and it is terrifying me. But, multiple women have be kind enough to reassure me that they have also had easy first trimesters and having symptoms is just as normal as not having any.

I found a really reassuring article amongst hundreds that I have recently read and it did help ease my anxiety for a while. The gist was that it is only a potential concern if you have had strong symptoms and they have completely disappeared altogether. However, it is normal for symptoms to come and go throughout, and they often start to go around the eight to ten week mark anyway.

I have had a mmc and definitely fell into the category where I did have symptoms that completely went and I then had a constant low stomach ache for several weeks until it was discovered. I also had an intuitive certainty that something was wrong and whilst I know everyone is different, I am holding onto the view that no symptoms after not having any is fine.

Definitely go for a private scan for reassurance. Also, according to some of my excessive research, if you have PCOS you are also less like to have symptoms.
