36 weeks FTM bladder pain

Hi, for the last 3 or so days I've had a lot of pressure and uncomfortableness in my bladder. It's not as bad when I lay down but walking around feels like i constantly need to wee and when I do only a tiny bit comes out. Sometimes I have a stabby feeling in the left side of my bladder that also seems to transfer down the left side of my vagina. My midwife done a urine test for me yesterday and said it isn't a UTI, and probably just the babys head pressing on my bladder. Does this sound normal? Has anyone else had this? I don't have pain passing urine or any cloudiness or blood but everything else feels like a UTI. or like someone has a sharp thumb pressed hard into my bladder all the time.

Hi - I couldn't read this without replying because I feel the same! 36 weeks and been feeling like this for the past week or so. It's mostly when I'm walking around but I feel like I'm desperate for the loo until I get to the loo and it's just a trickle. I mentioned it to the midwife at my last check last week but my urine sample was fine and she said it's probably the baby's head - although she didn't say if she thought he was engaged. I haven't really had the stabbing pain but have had random aches and pains down there. One thing I've noticed is it's worse if I'm wearing shoes with a thin sole - I wish I could wear my boots because they're more supportive but I can't get them on anymore and my feet are too hot and itchy all the time! Hope this helps you worry less, but obviously if it gets worse I'd just go back to the midwife /GP.

It very likely is baby pressing on your bladder. It is extremely uncomfortable. I found walking with a hand firmly holding my bump up really helped even if it did look a little daft!

Wow if it really is the baby this sucks so much!! Don't know how I will survive another month of this! Having said that, today hasn't been as bad, maybe baby moved positions slightly. I will try holding the bump up next time just to see if it helps.
