Thrush pessary in pregnancy - has it worked?! (TMI)

Hi all

TMI warning! I have had thrush through most of my pregnancy (25 weeks now) and tend to get it a few times a year when I am not pregnancy.

The pessary treatment usually works well for me. I usually notice that the following day there will be some chalky residue from the pessary, which I know is normal.

Each time I've taken the pessary when pregnant, I haven't had any residue at all. I can also feel the tablet for a few hours which is really uncomfortable.

Has a thrush pessary worked if you don't get the chalky residue the following day / hours later?

Yeah that's perfectly normal. It actually stained my undies so make sure u wear pants you don't mind throwing out. I think there's more residue as your cervix is closed so there's nowhere else for it to go - if you know what I mean. I don't think you should feel the pessary when in (I certainly couldn't) maybe it was just a bit lower? I could tel within a day or so that it had worked as the symptoms were gone so quickly!
