Hey, so I don't know if I'm just looking too far into things, but I had my first scan today and they said they couldn't find a heartbeat, they think it stopped just after the seven week mark, has anybody had this happen where they have ended up having a full term pregnancy. I have looked online and it has said it is possible to not find the heartbeat still at 8 weeks

Hoping and praying they were wrong as I can't go through this again Sad

I really hope your instincts are right.

I was told at '8 weeks' that the baby had no heartbeat and I should have the operation straight away. I decided to miscarry at home but couldn't shake off the instinct that I was still pregnant. Everyone thought I was struggling to cope. I asked for another scan 3 weeks later and there was a heartbeat. Although they said they'd never known it to happen (sonographer has measured the wrong thing). I now have a 4 week old daughter. I hope it works out for you.

Different situation but I had my last normal period in October then a light 2 day bleed in November my mw went with the November date and my 12 week scan confirmed she was right. I would book a private scan if I was you for a date you know you would be far enough for a hb

I wouldn't do anything for a couple of weeks just incase shes wrong. I can't believe they would take the chance in the circumstances. I hope everything works out.

Scan is booked for Friday, quite annoyed with the hospital as when I rang up the early pregnancy unit they said they should have booked me in for another scan before I do anything else! Angry

I would be pissed as hell there is no way they should be doing anything until there is no doubt at all, it's sad that someone could take there advice and lose a healthy baby through negligence.

plimsolls · 11/04/2016 13:44

Will be thinking of you on Friday. Good luck.

There is nothing lost by hanging on for another couple of weeks and having a further scan then. At the very least, if the medics are right, you will feel that you can make decisions secure that the diagnosis is correct.

I do hope that things turn out as you wish; but do not despair if they are right and the pregnancy is at an end. My DD suffered this and now has two healthy children. Flowers
