Pregnant with my first child, Due in about 9 weeks I guess now, doesn't time fly!

Well anyhoo, My Mother jsut asked me if I'd read anythign about Strep B, found some stuff, but nothing really too helpful. Just about how I could be a carrier but its not known and some tests aren't accurate etc..

What can I do to find out, any one have any suggestions or have had tests?

Love to hear from you.

Thanks.

I tested positive for GBS with my first daughter when I had a swab taken for thrush. I had antibiotics in labour but when she was five days old she became really unwell. After some IV antibiotics she erked up and was fine. I was tested for GBS with my seocond and the test was negative, even so I was given antibiotics in labour but she was also unwell this time within a few hours of being born. Thankfully the antibiotics worked and she too is fine.
As a general rule if you have tested psoitive once assume that you will akways have it.

Recieved my test from the lab this morning after ordering it on wednesday, so a good turn around. I discussed with my MW about the test and she said she would do it for me at my 36 week appointment, whihc I thought was goood of her as apparently some practices won't have anything to do with the tests.

AmieR - that is really good of her!! As I said, once I posted the test they texted the result to me in 2 DAYS!! (And it was just before Christmas so I was ultra impressed).
