had Early Scan and now worried and confused

Hi,

sorry am totally new to this but lacking RL support due to no-one knowing and this is my first pregnancy and really confused.

i worked out i should be 8 weeks pregnant LMP was 28th december 2015 but i had a fall last weekend and given an early scan on tuesday.

They could see a yolk and sac but that is all .... oh and a cyst on my overy. they now saying i am 5-6 weeks but that seems really off. is everything normal or not IYO?

i have also developed a hard rounded stomach above my belly button - WTF is that?

sorry so many quiestions and so confused. just want to know if everything is ok or not and the 8th of march seems ages away for my next scan.

Sorry can't help with the dates but the cyst is normal I think, I had an early scan at 8-9 weeks and had one and the sonographer wasn't worried.

I also don't think the hard bit is anything to do with baby, it's way way down in your pelvis and nowhere near your bellybutton. Maybe it's bloating?

Sonographer told me cyst is normal, its to do with the hormones, it should dissolve once the placenta takes over. My stomach is hard when I'm.constipated or bloating. Its quite hard to date when baby is so small. If they were worried they would have said when they did your scan. Its all a waiting gain. My scan at 9 weeks all I saw was a blobby jelly baby.

Hello there. I've just been having the exact same situation (minus the fall).
I am supposed to be 8+1 today but had a scan on wednesday last week which showed things were developing but no heartbeat (should have been 7 wks at that point so my heart sank) went back for another scan yesterday and they found a little happy and healthy heartbeat! Only measuring at 6+4 so it's very possible things just haven't grown so quick. Lots of stories with same theme. Early scans seem very unreliable. I know my dates are right so I'm expecting baby to 'catch up' at some point. At the first scan, I had a cyst on left ovary, 2nd scan showed nothing. Apparently they are very common and usually go away with no problem. As for the lump, go back to your gp and get it checked to be sorted x

Thanks so glad I am there are others in same boat with positive notes .... Was getting worried as a lot of the posts on here seem to have sad endings when early scans arnt all they should be. It seems like forever waiting till the 8th of March though ....I'm sure I will stress less once I see a heartbeat .... Hopefully

Am I right in thinking that because there was a yolk things in theory are ok however?

I don't know the scientifics of it but I was told it was positive they'd seen the yolk scan at the first scan I had. I still came away devastated thinking at 7 wks we should be able to see something clearly. But I was wrong and all that worry came to nothing. It still took an internal scan to find baby tho and that's at 6+4.
My advice right now is please do not Google!! I had a blighted ovum miscarriage last time (hence my worries) and was told that they very rarely happen a second time to the same person. I googled and found numerous stories of ladies who had 2 or 3! Nurse I spoke to at the hospital yesterday said not once in her career has she met someone who's had 2 or more...more horror stories are online than positive so you'll end up terrifying yourself x

No problem at all, as others have said on a different post, we are basically hand holding for each other :-) I only joined this site a few wks ago and it's honestly been a lifeline. We can talk openly about everything and the ladies on here know exactly what it feels like and if not many friends or family are in the know, it gives you an area to discuss your pregnancy secret without revealing to the outside world!
