I don't know what we are up to for the next couple of weeks/months... DH starts in Geneva in November unless NYC offers him something in the mean time. Nothing like waiting for the last minute all of the time!

Interesting week...

DH had an interview for NYC on Friday and I was trying to wrap my head around that instead of Geneva but yesterday he was asked/told to stay HERE!!! I am . It is way too confusing to get into but basically I was doing better until yesterday.

for you Caddy, did they say Why? does he get a choice in the matter, as obviously his family do not want to be where they are right? do the UN not care about their staff like normal organisations??

Hello Friz! Thanks for taking the time to ask. It is really complicated. DH is not too sure who is even 'in the know'...

As far as the organization is concerned, we have given notice to our landlord (the reason we obtained a November 1 start date) and to the children's school so... I guess they don't really care.

As it happens, the landlord does not mind if we stay on as he has not found a suitable tenant to replace us. I have no idea what to do vis-a-vis school. I did not even register ds2 because I KNEW that we were moving and I HATE the school that the older two attend.

My head is ready to explode because on the one hand, I never want to pack up and move again but on the other I have never had such a rotten year in all my life which is telling since we have been through the wringer for the last couple of years.

All I can do is sit back and watch it unfold.

I think you all need to sit down as a family and look long and hard at where you want to be, although I can imagine that will be a horrible process to go through, but it sounds like you need to do it, work life v's home life can be such a toughie, but this is your sanity and your kids sanity too. Caddy, that must be so hard to deal with, to have someone else basically deciding where you are going to live. Especially when it is somewhere that you just aren't getting along with.
