Thrush in Pregnancy?

Hi all.

This may be a little TMI but for the past couple of days, I've been itching like crazy down there. As a result, the area is sore, swollen, raw and I am struggling to sleep at night. I have a young DS to look after and I'm currently 29 weeks pregnant. I'm pretty sure it's thrush. Is there anything I can use to get rid of the itching sensation? I've tried yoghurt with no luck. I've seen a few creams etc in pharmacies, some of which say they're okay to use during pregnancy but I'm a little sceptical.

I can't see the doctor until Monday, so is there anything which could help me make it through the weekend. My DS is still waking during the night, so this along with not being able to sleep in between due to constant soreness/itching is making me exhausted.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

@Sazzy312 I have my 20 week scan next week (although I will be 21 weeks) but I’m going to mention it to my midwife again then as she hasn’t got back to me after several attempts to contact her! X

@Sianmrtn good idea, fingers crossed they give you something, all the best for your scan :)

Buy pessary and cream from Tesco, saves any hassle. Don't use applicator. Hope it clears up, it's awful!!

Antibiotics will not help with thrush as thrush is fungal not bacterial. Antibiotics can also cause thrush
