Had my appointment today (40+1). I know my cervix is soft baby is head down, i scored 4 .. But im kinda confused Grin does it look good? Should i be able to go into labor myself ? I must sound so silly lol

I can also see that im not dilated... Is there anything i can do to try open my cervix up?

Can anyone understand my cervical examination table??

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bishop_score

Hope this helps.

Take the Bishops score with a pinch of salt. All it does is give you a snapshot of a moment - how your cervix is the time of exam - tells you nothing about what's happened before or will happen afterwards.
Looks alright, would interpret that chart as that your cervix is in the process of softening & drawing forward (it changes position in the vagina before labour begins).
Is this your first baby? Have you had any tightenings or anything?
Looking at that I'd be surprised if you went into labour tonight, but stranger things have happened. Nothing is certain when it comes to birth! As for kickstarting things, lots of old wives tales, whether they work or not is anyone's guess. The best thing you can do is relax and do something you enjoy - endorphins, your 'happy hormone', play a role in labour, so doing something fun can't do any harm and, at the very least, will cheer you up!
