New pregnancy - will social services return?

Hi all
I have just found out I am pregnant with my third child, and am wondering if Ss will become involved again? My other 2 kids were on a child protection register previously and the case was closed a year ago with no action taken.
If Ss were to come and check on me they would not find anything different from when the case was closed and I know my kids would not be tKen away but I could really do without the stress of them checking up on me again. Has anyone else had this issue and does anyone know what will happen?

Hi, I think that would depend on why they were involved in the first place tbh. If they took no action then presumably they have no concerns so I doubt that they would return. (But obviously that depends on their reasons for placing your children under a CPO).

If you are really worried then you could always ring them yourself.

Hi thanks for reply :) it started out as problems with my depression and not coping, but I got better and then the cpr focused on my relationship with my 2 kids dad who is my ex as he was causing lots of problems... The new pregnancy is with a different partner ... honestly I shouldn't stress because if they did come they would see I'm not depressed and coping well and life sorted , but SS strike panic into my heart as I'm sure they do to many others... Just wondered if there was anyone here who had similar thing and what happened X

They might return because of concerns about how adding a third child to the mix would impact on your mental health and whether post natal depression could occur after birth etc. Also depends on your new partner and whether there are any risks he poses. Just wait it out and see how you get on. Fingers crossed all goes well

If no action was taken previously, then perhaps not. If you are in a good place now, the hospital might make SS aware just see if there is any support they can provide for you. But if involved professionals don't have any current concerns, they probably won't get involved.

If the case is closed then they shouldn't. However the midwives and health visitors will prob keep a close eye on you due to the previous depression and can contact ss if they are concerned but it shouldn'thave be an automatic referral.
