Has anyone gone into labour when their partner was ill??

Mine is ill and I suspect will be quite unwell for the best part of the week. I'm 38wks so still have time until I'm due, but was a bit horror-struck at the thought of going into labour early and not having the support of my partner (he was brilliant for birth of ds1). And him missing the birth too

So it got me wondering if anyone has been in this unfortunate position and how did it turn out?

I'm not in the same position but I have my fingers crossed for you! I'm in a similar position in that my husband works away and he has been told he will be away until around the 10th of May and I'm due on the 26th!!! He was the perfect person to support me through my labour with DD1 and I am terrified at the prospect of him missing the birth of this baby! He's going to be a long haul flight away! I also live about an 8 or 9 hour drive from my family! I really feel your pain and hope it all works out for you x

I'm 38 weeks and my 1 and 2 yr olds had a vomiting bug last week and chest infection and temp this week. I'm horrified at the thought of them being sick when I go jnto labour. Firstly because I would be afraid to bring a newborn jnto sick house but secondly as the thought of them not having me or dh home to look after them when they are miserable breaks my heart. I'm Co firing myself that my body will not go into labour unless the time is right as it knows to protect my other babies too.

DH had flu for PFB birth. Proper flu not man flu.
He slept through first stages then drove me to hospital (when contractions were 3 mins apart) and just got on with it really.
In all the excitement didn't even consider PFB could get ill!
It was all fine though. Mum did say he looked worse than I did

Yeah I'm also trying to convince myself that my body won't go into labour until the time is right!
