Hello everyone Smile I really hope someone has experienced this and could help me!
Been trying to get pregnant for about 2 years now. Well I took a pregnancy test yesterday and super super faint line was there....Today same thing but I mean so faint it's invisible!!!
I've done about 5 tests today and all the same.
I've got some symptoms like bigger, heavier breast and some cramping and back pain too.

Is this a positive, has anyone had this and ended in a successful pregnancy???
Am I so desperate I'm imagining this 'line' Confused Confused

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi I would really appreciate opinions here. I have just taken two HGC strips one yesterday and then this morning and I am convinced this is just an evaporation line but are they usually grey or pink? Can there be any other reason HGC is detected in the system? I have PCOS

if this showed up in the specified time, then that's a line

Dileas29 · 25/11/2015 13:01

I can't tell if it is worth while taking a proper test but think not yet If these sensitive tests are showing almost invisible then a real test would show negative?

KatharinaRosalie · 25/11/2015 13:33

you can do a First Response. but my first lines were the same.

CookieKatie · 25/11/2015 13:51

As most people said to me:

A line is a a line
A line = pregnant.

My first test was very faint too, second test the next day a bit darker. 5 Days after the first test in the evening after drinking water all day etc they were super dark!

Your hormone levels get stronger everyday. Leave it a few days and be amazed at how dark they'll be :)

JessieMcJessie · 25/11/2015 14:10

Cookiekatie it's important however to be realistic about the fact that a sensitive test can show a faint line because there has been implantation and some HCG is produced, but it is possible that the pregnancy will not stick and the lines will fade away to nothing, followed by AF.

In other words, while a line is indeed a line and there is no such thing as a false positive, a positive test doesn't necessarily mean a viable pregnancy.

Speaking from bitter experience.

Dileas29 · 25/11/2015 14:16

Thanks for this. It's good to hear both sides. I don't get periods very often so not sure what to look out for. Will test again in a few days

JessieMcJessie · 25/11/2015 14:38

No problem Dileas. You're still in with a fighting chance though - how many dpo are you?

HCG is supposed to double every 48 hours so if all is going well you should get more certainty in a few days. Does your strip say what sensitivity it is? This month I got a line (pic posted above) on a Superdrug test but never got a positive on a digital. Here are the sensitivities so you can see (all in mIU/ml):

  • Superdrug early HPT: 10
  • First Response Early Result: 12.5
  • First Response: 25
  • Clear Blue Easy: 25
  • Clear Blue Digital: 50
mellmumma · 25/11/2015 15:10

sorry to hear that JessieMcJessie 😢💛

Dileas29 · 25/11/2015 15:46

So I couldn't wait and decided to do a proper test after doing those strips. v v faint or is it just me

Very very faint positive pregnancy test!
Dileas29 · 25/11/2015 15:48

Sorry to hear that, maybe there is still hope for you yet. I think I could be around 10 days after ovulation

LouLou030783 · 25/11/2015 16:04

Are people just testing too early before a missed period? Just as l only 10 days after ovulation, maybe best holding off a few days Or if it's not too early get a digital test X

JessieMcJessie · 25/11/2015 16:05

Nope, no hope for me this month as my period arrived.

I can't see anything in that picture by 10dpo is very early so it's just a waiting game I'm afraid. Honestly, after my experience my one piece of advice would be to step away from all tests until your period is a day late.

Best of luck and do keep us updated.

CookieKatie · 25/11/2015 16:26

Jessiemcjessie

I'm so so sorry to hear that Sad my experience has always been when you have a line it's positive = pregnant. I have gone on to lose later but not been testing at that point.

Fingers crossed for happy healthy pregnancies! Flowers

Dileas29 · 25/11/2015 18:01

Aw thank you all. I know trying to put it all at the back of my mind especially as anything can happen in these early days. Will see what the doctor says at my next visit.
Hopefully good news for you soon Jessie

Dileas29 · 26/11/2015 06:42

Day 3 of testing. This one is a 25mlU/ml just tested this morning. My husband is in denial and says it's not a strong enough line?

Very very faint positive pregnancy test!
LouLou030783 · 26/11/2015 07:00

Dileas it's Defo a line but have u missed a period yet if not I'd wait until then x

Dileas29 · 26/11/2015 07:09

I haven't had a period since July as I have PCOS so can't judge it by that reallyConfused

LouLou030783 · 26/11/2015 08:07

Well to me it looks like a pos maybe wait till your 14 days after ovulation and test again see if it's clearer but there's Defo a line there x

KatharinaRosalie · 26/11/2015 08:48

that is definitely a line

JessieMcJessie · 26/11/2015 11:12

It's definitely a line. Your husband is wrong about the line not being dark enough - it's impossible to get a line without some pregnancy hormone in your system. So you can cautiously tell yourself that you are pregnant - congratulations!

Wait till the weekend when you'll be about 14 dpo and try a Clearblue Digital. If positive that will convince your husband as no lines to read, and if your HCG has gone up to the level that a digital will read then the pregnancy is less likely to fail early. Good luck!

Dileas29 · 26/11/2015 12:16

Aw thank you very much all. Will take a digital in a few days as they are so pricey I don't want to waste one!

Dileas29 · 27/11/2015 09:22

I have just phoned the doctor ahead of my appointment next week to ask for a pregnancy test as these are just so faint I'm concerned there is a reason it's not getting stronger

Very very faint positive pregnancy test!
Dileas29 · 27/11/2015 09:24

I've been getting bloods taken and the receptionist advised me the last result has shown my progesterone levels were greater than 72?

LouLou030783 · 27/11/2015 09:24

It's maybe still to early dileas, it's hard as u don't have a regular cycle, I'd try a digital as at least it flashes up x
