Is ultrasound harmful

I'm really worried as had 4 scans already and only 11+5. I've just been reading some research that says they could cause cell damage, birth defects, autism and behaviour problems etc - anyone shed any light?

Not what I'd call a website with reliable information, on the front page they proclaim:

So is that pretty much the experience you had, OP? Does it ring true?

Or how about the website ads for "cupping" during birth, which is described elsewhere (okay, Daily Mail) as "celebrity fad" hailed for everything from infertility to pain control.

There is some sketchy evidence showing the smallest ever risk in a large number of scans. However this would require a large number of scans and as scans are not done without a reason the benefit by far outweighs the risk. It wouldn't be something that concerned me.

virtually everything, on an interpretation, could cause all of the things you list. Anxiety about this kind of thing might be harmful to your baby too. Or it might not! Regardless, it's not much fun for you. try not to google this kind of shit, for the sake of your sanity if nothing else.

you could find info that breathing was bad for you on Google.

everything with medicine is risk vs benefit

scabs are expensive and time consuming and ergo would not be performed outside the usual 11 and 20 weeks unless they felt there was sufficient reason too. and those reasons would outweigh anything else.
I use have had over a dozen scans with dd. not doing so could have risked both our lives. she's nuts, she's ditsy, she's stubborn as fuck but I don't believe the scans are responsible for any negatives.
