Brown spotting at 39 weeks

I think this is normal but thought I'd post and see what others think. So I had some pink/brown/a little red tinged mucus earlier, and have been having brown spotting thought out the afternoon and cramping. From google it seems to say that this is the cervix thinning out and maybe a big of my plug?

I'm not sure if I'm quite ready for the baby to get here!

Sounds like it's your mucus plug to me but if your worried call your midwife. If it makes you feel any better I lost my mucus plug at 35 weeks with dd1 and she was born until her due date nearly 5 weeks later. Good luck!
