Anyone had a sweep and it worked?

im currently 7 days overdue been having lots of contractions one lot landing me in hospital for 7 hours as they were 5 mins apart didnt get any closer though.Had a show sickness the trots.So i had my sweep done today and mw said it may work hopefully as she could touch baby's head.

I had a sweep and within 24 hours DD was born .

I had a sweep following a night of contractions and a bit of a show (tiny bit, nothing spectacular) dd was born 11 hours later. Good luck with everything!

im here ive got to phone the hospital as ive had a huge very bloody show this morning similar to what you get when you come on a period and periody type pains,my mw has told me to contact the hospital.It will be ok wont it?

ive rang them ive got to monitor babys movements over the next 2 hours then call them back.

im ok thank you just been monitoring babys movements and he seems ok,not lost anymore really just a little it just really scared me seeing blood like that.

hi everyone, I had a sweep today at 40+2, the midife managed the sweep but said that my cervix was closed so probably wouldnt work. Had anyone had any experience of this, which resulted in going into labour? ive not felt anything since so think she was right. also has anyone any ideas on how to get cervix more ready? feeling very down that its not ready!

SIL had a membrane sweep & it kicked off her labour.

I had a chimney sweep & he found a silver spoon.

a sweep will only work if the body is ready to go into labour within 23 - 48 hours......

try nipple stim, sex and bouncing on a gym ball!!

AT 39+6 today I had a sweep, my doctor said I was 1cm dilated but the cervix was still "long" I have already had a big show and the baby is engaged (thank you God)(this has never happened beore) so I am hoping that something will happen really soon. This is my third baby and I am trying for a VBAC. Anyone out there who has had a VBAC after a sweep? Tell me how it went!
